Guardian Devil of Hell's Kitchen by Powermaster Jazz .. Looks great, though it may be missing a shadow over the character’s left leg. (Viewers right side.)

role call: Mercury by NightScroller ... This is laid out well and I think you did okay on the silver. There are problems with the lack of creases and highlights in the costume, parts of which still seem blurry, while there are also some ragged edges.

Liv Tyler as Wonder Woman... Another of my Wonder Woman series. There are several, like this, done that were submitted before I got the tip on high lighting the eyes differently.

Final Fantasy Crimson by perfect... No art notes.

Robin: Beyond! by effektdmentality .. Well done. I notice a few spots where the colors did not fill, but it still looks good.

Ironman Hatch Open by Torokun Looks good. Others may not know that your notes were with the earlier pic. You may want to copy them into the current submission.

x3poster by Doesitreallymatter ...If using other artists’ work, be sure to credit them. As is this one is a bit busy for me. You may want to work the edges on Prof. Xavier.

Original Concept: Sonic by Sonic1002 ... Good textures. Because of the placement, it looks like there are two different backgrounds here, an there are some edge work problems to the viewer’s left of his/your neck.

hulk woman by punky ... Can’t say “No notes” as you do tell us what program you used. Can you tell us what you did?. Good recolor on her

Not Your Play Toy! (remix) by Captain Sigma... Much better on the silver work. The color on the tiara is improved but the tiara is out of whack, partly because of the wavy edges and because it is so high on her head. The height isn’t actually a problem, it just looks odd with so many of us centering it on her forehead. The breast plate still needs some work in shading and highlighting. Think about where the light should and should not hit it. I would want to center the eagle head of the breast plate between her breasts. Your shading of the breast to our left accentuates the fact that the eagle head is not centered.

Wonder Woman Smackdown by Jab .. The notes need to tell us what you did, not just where you started. Mind you, I like the piece, and nothing jumps out at me as technically off, other than the variable lighting (from top right for Giganta and far left for WW. With such brief notes, I don’t know what all you did. It could prove educational for the viewers as well.

Harvey by etrigan69.. No notes = No review

Powergirl by Albea ... No notes = No review

Superboy by phonock ... Looks good.

She-Hulk Transforms #2 by Ed Hopkins ... Great job. I do animations and am impressed that you got the file small enough to post here.

JSA Photo Album - Sandman by comix700.. Good job. I don’t see any problems here.

Yeah, I was scared to touch the breastplate anymore. I may tried to go back to it later. But I have to disagree witth you on the eagle head. Actual clothing (even gold mesh) wouldn't move like that. It would actually be slightly off center. But, to each his own.

As cloth I would agree with you. As a metal breast plate (which is the direction I have gone from) it would be pretty well fixed. On the live action version of the 60's it was definitely cloth. On the new JLU cartoon, it looks more like cloth as well.

At the moment, I don't remember what led me to the solid breast plate that I have been using. That though is the apparent cause of the difference we have here. Good luck on the finishing.

i think the metal came from alex ross's work , his versions have a real metalic look to the chest piece

everyone needs to thank KLA, only guy reviewing lately....i'll help take some of the heat off of you.

mercury: same as all of your other stuff. i think you should really take some time on your pieces....there is not much of a progression from piece to piece. if that's how you want it, cool...but if your trying to reach another level artistically, i think some patience would help.

daredevil: hey it's not a transformer. sweet background.

wonder woman: it works..i like the tiara...the gold is there. here is an idea...go for an all out makeover on these tight face shots. retouch the skin, add some makeup, whiten and brighten the eyes, sweeten up the lips, maybe create her hair as opposed to using the stock hair. just by doing some of that stuff it takes it from what it is now, to that piece that stands out from the crowd.

robin: i like the design, if fits very well with the batman beyond theme. great notes! love to see you put this together in an action sequence with bats.

iron man hatch: this works much better than the other cut away i saw. the other one i saw made tony look like he was hanging inside the suit, his arms were awkward. i've enjoyed the series....i like the take on the character. i think if they do go for the movie they will likely keep him human sized to keep the character more realatable. still a great take on the character.

x3: hope you asked for permission. watch your edges, real jaggy.

sonic: the edges of the mask are not crisp at all. there is no real edge to anything, except for the eye part of the mask. the bottom of that looks nice, the rest is a blurry mess. the metal doesn't wrap to the head at all, the way it's lit it is very square. i like the jewel thing. again, if your going to do these in tight face shots, you really need to knock them out of the ballpark, they are close up and that makes it easy to see the mistakes.

not your playtoy: cool bracelets! they really stand out. the tiara is not very solid...the edges are wobbly and not very sharp. learn the pen tool, it will make creating objects easier and much more realistic. the division lines on the breast plate just feel like lines, i don't feel a division. keep up the good work, i can see your trying new things and it's going to pay off.

smackdown: i like her boots. great use of a pose to create a scene.

superboy: beware of his cuteness. very nice.

she hulk: great animation work...very smooth on the pose change. i like the eyes, great throwback to the hulk tv show. very smooth she hulk...the flesh looks nice.

sandman: nice aged pic. your first time is a success. maybe throw in a tear here or there.

Thank you Dan, and thank you Dan. I always keep your suggestions in mind, if not in print. I have had a few in the que that were put there some three or four UIRs back, so the effects of some suggestions won't show up for awhile._ Kevin

Guardian Devil of Hell's Kitchen by Powermaster Jazz – Very nice drawing. I’m not quite sure what is bugging me about it but the shadows of the inking on Daredevil don’t seem to match the heavy shadows of the background. They are both wonderfully done but somehow don’t seem to quite match as a whole.

role call: Mercury by NightScroller – Kudos for trying metal its never easy. But as Dan mentioned there really isn’t a lot of progression from piece to piece. The biggest thing missing on this piece is shading. Both on the metal body and the costume. Because of the lack of shading the screen right arm has almost no separation from the leg. Also keep in mind when you do the differing sections of the costumes you should take into account the body line. Also I don’t know if it is intentional or not but you haven’t quite gotten the costume design right on any of these “Role Call” pieces.

Liv Tyler as Wonder Woman – Wonderfully done. I really like the eyes and the earrings. And of course the tiara is great.

Final Fantasy Crimson by perfect – It’s a bit hard to make this one out on my monitor but what I can see I like. Nice layout and good foreshortening on the blade

Robin: Beyond! by effektdmentality – Very cool design and very cool story. The pic is very well done as well the only tiny problem is the slightly rough edges of the black color and a couple of random white spots in the yellow.

Ironman Hatch Open by Torokun – Very sweet and awesomely thought out. I didn’t get a chance to comment on the full armor piece but I have to say I loved the design and idea.

x3poster by Doesitreallymatter – I’m 95% sure I’m one of those “Borrowed” from and I can say unequivocally NO he didn’t ask permission AND he altered my original by replacing the head. you decide. (http://www.comics2film.com/DCG/DispArt.php3?f_id=14200&f_ssn=&f_fooble=34)

Original Concept: Sonic by Sonic1002 – Dan and Kevin covered most of the things I see with this one. The only other thing I see is the metal of the crown isn’t as reflective as it should be.

hulk woman by punky – Okay recolor. You didn’t lose depth on the recolor but you have a lot of weird pixelation. She almost looks scaley. And the fabric shreds really don’t look real.

Not Your Play Toy! (remix) by Captain Sigma – I don’t remember seeing the first version but I have to say I LOVE the gauntlets the tiara and breastplate doesn’t look very metallic in comparison but Dan and Kevin explained it better than I could.

Wonder Woman Smackdown by Jab – No art notes so I have no idea what you did with this one beyond the costuming. WW arms seem overly long and there seems to be some odd shadows on her back. And she is casting no shadows on the gravel of the rooftop.

Harvey by etrigan69 – No art notes but one thing that jumps out at me is the rough edges and the lack of shading/depth.

Powergirl by Albea – I always enjoy your pieces and this is no exception. I especially like the hair on this one.

Superboy by phonock – Very cute and a fun cut and past piece.

She-Hulk Transforms #2 by Ed Hopkins – Dude this was totally mindblowing. I even showed it to a coworker who isn’t even really a comic fan.

JSA Photo Album - Sandman by comix700 – Nice work and a great use of stylized aging and sepia tone.

Perfect-
Thanks, I really appreciate it. I'm glad it comes off as a believable pic because I was really striving for that. I have about four or five more coming. I'm really having alot of fun with these.
