Hello all...newbie here http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif Just wondering do you guys think the show Smallville respects or disrespects the Superman mythology (I've asked this on SuperheroHype and a Smallville newsgroup I'm on soooooooo thought I'd get your opinions http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif)

I think it does it justice. It is actually pretty close the the origins of the comics, I believe. They just need to give Clark glasses. But, that would be detract from his sex appeal. Heaven forbid. anyway, I think it works.
Now comes the part where I relieve you, the little people, of the burden of your failed and useless lives. But remember, as my plastic surgeon always said: if you gotta go, go with a smile.

It disrespects it. Especially the previous episode, Exodus.

Respects it in what way, the way Superman was before or after "Crises."?

I don't know...overall (?) I'm just really delving into the Supes mythology now (I even got Jeph Loeb's Superman For All Seasons)

How could a cheap prime time soap opera respect the Superman story...?

Lex Luthor's Brother? All besides that it seems to respect the mythology

And in the comics, Lex was a poor sap before he started his own company! And his baldness is simply the result of DHT! Not meteors!

Don't mind JohnJones, riotgirl. He's the local grump and often chimes in with negative comments that don't really expand the conversation in any way. He's kinda like Oscar on Sesame Steet, only JohnJones is fuzzier and more cuddly.
