Films to games vs. Games to films

Harry Potter, The Matrix and LOTR have very cool video games that are co-branded with the release of the films. Star Wars has spawned more games than any other movie I can think of. What about films that are a genesis of games. I can think of Tomb Raider and Mortal Kombat, but not too many others. Any cool ideas? What about games that you think would make really cool fictional movies? These are some of my votes:

1. Rachet & Clank ( http://www.ratchetandclankgadgets.com/# )
2. Splinter Cell ( http://www.splintercell.com/us/ )
3. For the unreleased but highly anticipated" vote, I submit I-Ninja ( http://www.ininjagame.com/ ) I could see Pixar taking this game for a real ride!

Mmmm... the Mario Brothers movie was pretty bad, the Final Fantasy movie was good, albeit not related to the game's plot line. Street Fighter was a movie, and Sonic the Hedgehog became a cartoon... None of them have been fantastic, really.

Unfortunately I can see games like Jak and Daxter becoming cartoons/movies, while better ones like Sly Cooper and ToeJam and Earl are ignored. Let's NOT make Quake or any of its ilk into movies... Medal of Honor, maybe? I can't think of any I would really like made into movies, only ones I wouldn't. Sorry.

The James Bond games aren't usually that great... then again, the movies aren't either. I like Goldeneye, though.

I love Mortal Kombat everything, but that's only because I'm a dork. I just bought Deadly Alliance, heehee.

I don't really like video games made from movies... then are always way too easy and have very annyoing music... like Enter The Matrix, most Star Wars games... Shrek *shudder*, bleh. I liked Evil Dead, though (again, because I'm a dork).

Yeah, I never saw the Mario Bros. or Street Fighter movies, but that's because everybody talked about how much they SUCKED.

I think a computer-animated version of I-Ninja would be awesome, assuming there's enough loveable characters in it besides I-Ninja himself. It's just such a visually stimulating game, based on what I've seen thus far.

I liked Resident Evil and I'm definitely goin to see Res. Evil Apocalypse when it comes out. The first wasnt great, but there's something about it i really liked.

TMNT that crosses all the media forms pretty well. I havent plaied the new game but I like the old ones for the NES, SNES & Genesis . There hasnt been a movie in a long while either but who knows with the reserection of the movie.

You know would make an AWESOME movie? Legend of Zelda........ I personally think the Ocarina of Time story would be the best to translate into movie plot.

Personally I'm still waiting for someone to get around to making a Castlevania movie. Lots of potential there.

That would be the best ever yeah whoooo that would so kick ass, a long time ago there was a poll on nintendo.com that asked if a Zelda movie was made would you see it. Practically 100% YES.
Ocarina of Time hands down would have to be the story for it. And the guy from LOTR Orlando something I think his name is anyway the guy that is the elf and shoots the arrows in the movie has the adult Link look down.
