quickie review
If you have not rented or purchased this game yet.....go out and do so (rent first)! This is the best game I have picked up all year....pc or console.
it's a racing game with some great stuff no one else has. the sense of speed is unbelievable.....it runs smooth and it is blistering fast......the best sense of speed in any racing game i have owned (makes fzero for the gamecube look like a snail race). the best part of the game is the crashes and the crash mode. while racing you can takedown an opponent and get treated to a nice slow-mo of his collision, and you are awarded for that as well as dangerous driving (driving into oncoming traffic, drifting, near misses, etc). the crash mode is just that....crash your car into trafic and do the most damage...crash enough cars and you can blow up your car for more damage. it's by far one of the best party games.....just watching it is fun for everyone....and playing it is a blast.
i highly recommend this game to anyone with a PS2 or Xbox. I have the Xbox version just because of the load time factors. but since i don't have xbox live...i can't play it online....so i miss that part from the PS2 version (free online....best decision PS2 made). rent it, get some buddies around and have some fun causing a 1.2 million dollar traffic wreck.
