it has been reprted that while the hulk will be swingin around tanks and dogs he WON'T be speaking. so we can forget about hearing him scream "HULK SMASH" or " HULK STRONGEST ONE THERE IS!" instead we get a few grunts and groans.
i dunno about you but i'm a little let down. can any hulk fan truely say they didn't want to hear at least one "hulk smash"?

But the toys have soundbytes. Those big foam fists have 'hulk smash' sayings. I'd be really really suprised to find that they werent taken from the movie. You could buy the Treebeard toy ages before the Two Towers came out and his voice was taken from the movie to I bet the Hulk's is too.

I bet he talks http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

I hope he won't be talking during the movie. I'll be paying to see this film in the cinema and I want my money's worth, without having some green monster blabbering away in the background being a distraction while I'm trying to watch. Those who wish to talk during a movie should go to a restaurant or something and chat there, and not spoil it for the rest of us.

They made a Hulk movie voice changer, to talk like Hulk.

Hulk's talking during the movie isn't the worst part. The worst part is his breath, I mean DAMN! Dude opens his mouth and every plant within a half mile just dies. The paint on a hundred houses spontaneously peels. Smells like he uses a skunk to brush, and gargles with septic water.
Someone really needs to offer him an industrial, atomic mint. Not me though. I...ah....I gotta take out the trash. and wash my hair. Yeah, that's the ticket. Wash my hair.

For some reason I have images of the dark green Meego Hulk figure from the late 1970s saying this. I suppose Hulk's going to want to throw popcorn too? I feel sorry for the people sitting in the rows of seats behind him when he gets angry.

For everyones sake lets hope Hulk doesn't go to the movies to do what Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman) used to do. He was the original wankster! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Alright, back to the topic. I don't think Hulk will talk in the movie, at least not until the very end of the picture. Since previews and commercials show almost everything that will be in a film and we haven't seen the Hulk say a word in any of them, I wouldn't bet on him having dialogue.

I wouldn't think that they are going to allow Hulk to speak either. I mean, the point of the film is to show the unadultarated RAGE that is stored within us, and I alway's thought that The Hulk from the comic books was just alway's too chatty for my tastes. He's supposed to be the EXTREME in rage and violence, and when one is taken over by that emotion, usually, one dosen't speak much, either on an eloquent level or just REALLY pissed offspeak.
Anyway..... I hope that made sense. SHARE!

That was one of the reasons I would've gone to see it, you know? Just to have seen the Hulk talk.

Personally, for me? NAAAAA... it just wouldn't make the grade, for me, letting him talk. I mean, I have this funny feeling that if he WERE to have been given a voice, it would only make it look strange..... I don't think it would work the same way as, say, Gollum speaking in LOTR: The... oh, you all know the rest of the title! I think it might even bring about unecessary laughter, to be honest. Anyway, just my 2 cent's talking.

I dont want him to talk. It would more than likely be terribly done.
Besides, I dont mind that Jason never spoke in the Friday the 13th films.

Jason did talk in "Jason Goes to Hell; The Final Friday", he just was in disguise at the time, see it and you will know what I'm talking about.
And Hulk pretty much stopped talking recently. Hell, he never talked in the TV series because the producers or writers or whoever thought it would be cheesy, this from a show that was cheesy in of itself, but they had a point. Hulk is like a big, brooding beast, if he started saying "Hulk smash puny humans", it could ruin the mood.
So I hope he doesn't talk in the film.

I remember in an episode of The Incredible Hulk t.v. series, that during a transformation, Banner get's trapped in between the transformation. In other words, he's still able to speak with Dr. Banner's mind, but the Hulk's body is present. That was the closest they came in the show to letting Banner's alter-ego be able to talk. I thought it worked very well, showing Bill Bixby's character's mind still there, but Lou Ferrigno's Hulk body & rage present. It made for some great t.v.! The way they did it, it was acceptable to me.... it wouldn't have been if they'd gone that route of Hulk shouting out, "This time.......HULK SMAAAASH"!!! Just dosen't really work outside of the comic strip, people!

"Prometheus"! That's the only Hulk episode name I ever memorized because I loved that two-parter. I remember the first part had David Banner in the woods living with a blind woman and there was a metorite that he came into contact with. Something in the metorite kept him from completely reverting back to Banner after he would change into the Hulk.

WC

Actually the closest the Lou Ferrigno Hulk ever got to actually talking (ie not in a half-transformed state) was in the pilot episode when Banner is calling out Elaina Marks's name when the lab is inadvertently set on fire by Mr McGee after the classic "don't make me angry" line. As Banner calls out Elaina's name whilst being burned by the flames, he transforms and the Hulk almost speaks her name, but it is a rather primal, gutteral sound that comes out.

This actually gives me an idea for a new thread!

MWF,

The end you are right. It is how I always thought of him speaking. The other scene (the first time) I thought it was all fears confirmed.

Me fail spelling? That's unpossible.

Hmmm, I guess I saw a different first scene. Did his voice the first time suck becasue it was a dream, and that was how he was seen? He sounded like the aliens from the Simpsons...then it got better.

I wanted to hear him say it once...HULK SMASH. Not all the time, but just once. It was kinda sad not to hear him say it just once.

I must say, after seeing this film, and the way they were able to incorporate Hulk talking, I thought was very imaginative, and wasn't cheesy like I thought it might become.
Kudos to the screenwriter's for being able to pull this off,was very well done.

So did the Hulk disturb anyone's viewing then by talking during the movie? Or was he well behaved? http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

The Hulk's voice sounded a lot like Michael Dorn(Lt. Worf from Star Trek TNG) who has done voice work before. He was the voice actor for Steel and Kalibak on the Superman animated series.

Hey D.K.!
You're absolutely right about that, that's EXACTLY who he sounded like, come to think of it! As I've said before, I liked the way they incorporated him speaking into the film.
I thought it was a terrific "homage" if you will to the comic book, the way they did it and the line that they used. I'm talking mainly about the FIRST time we get to hear ole "Jade Jaws" speak. Not so much the SECOND time.
