First I like to say Mcd was great in green mile, but come on I cant believe there's that many people that beleve he's a good actor. His role as Kingpin sucked huge ass he had total of 5 lines in the whole movie and there's a reason for it.HE CANT ACT.Yes greenmile was a great role because he had little to say and Tom hanks stole the show. So for crying out loud please someone agree with me when I say that I think the CGI created hulk has more acting ability in his cgi created pinkie then MCD has in his whole body. Please I know your out there.

I'm thinking of starting a MCD fan club. You want in? You seem to be a big fan.

I won't bash him, as he was fine in his own right. But I do have a few minor quibbles with his interpretation of the Kingpin or his appearance generally.

a) He wasn't broad enough, shoulder-wise. Perhaps a bit of shoulder pads built into his jacket would've helped because I'm pretty sure the comic version has quite square shoulders.

b)I would've preferred his suit to be white instead of light grey, or black, just because white might seem far more imposing and intimidating.

c) I would've like to have seen him actually training with some bodyguards and beating them, as is often portrayed in the comics. Preferably on some practice mat.

d) Why was he almost begging in the end for mercy, and surprised that DD didn't kill him. He seems to proud a character to do such a thing. In fact, he was beaten all too easily and didn't practically crush DD with his bare hands.

Otherwise he generally wasn't bad at all.

It is my understanding that all those extra Kingpin moments you wanted might make it to the director's cut dvd. Before all the cuts were made, the DD/Kingpin battle was longer and more intense and Fisk's very first scene on camera showed him murdering two of his own guards.

my god there are some very rude homophobic people on these boards. kryptonian-monk i am not going to stoop to your level and come up with soem joke about you being gay any other nonsense you might think is hilarious but i would like to make a general complaint about the amount of insults coming from certain people on these boards. cant we all just get along?

PS- if failing that can we at least retain an air of dignity and not go around belittleling people with such sub-childish jokes. and can i personally request we keep the level of homophobic remarks down. I dunno about you guys but i am pretty sick of it and it has already driven one of my friends from this site.

Hey BigKid! Comics are personal to most of the people here and some of them behave like immature rugrats. My point is, just ignore it and it'll go away. There's bigger things happening in the world today.

Mr. Hood!
Yes, I actually agree with you on this point. However, I want it CLEARLY understood, that I was only kidding around, would never want to go on the record as someone who INTENTIONALLY or UN intentionally (for that matter), hurt someone's feelings.

Is the Director's Cut DVD you speak of the DVD, or is it a separate thing to the one that is going to come out in a few months time?

Welshie!!! http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

Good to see you.

Anyhow, I haven't heard much about the DVD. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a second-release DVD, but it at least sounds like Fox won't be waiting ages to put it out... Might actually be simultaneous to a theatrical-release DVD. Because in all I've read, they mention releasing a Director's Cut in late summer.

So if I was gay would it be okay for me to use gay insults and would I have a phobia toward myself? Look bepo Im in the military and you know I here racist jokes all the time from my civlian buddys or the guys in my platoon.I also get black, hispanic, indian, honky and euro-trash jokes all day long and these coming from the melting pot of platoons.I guess what Im trying to say is that at the end of the day my platoon goes home happy,we dont take our comments seriously.Im sorry if my comments offended some people but part of maturity is being able to ignore the immature and not taking everything to heart. Also if your freinds left this sight over some stupid remarks there pretty weak individuals. You know when the beast was first written as a gay character I was a bit pissed off.I didnt stop collecting X-MEN because I was upset about the direction a charcter was going in. I learned to accept it I relized that the beast made more sense being gay he always seemed a bit fruity and X-MEN were always about change and acceptance. So once again I apologize if my comments hurt someones feelings But what doesnt kill you, will only make you stronger. OH and Norrin Raad you gotta admit the Silver Surfer is pretty gay with characters like firelord it could be easily interpreted as Gaylord ha ha ha just kidding it was a joke.

Completely unrelated to the topic at hand, I realize, but Beast isn't gay. Read the issue about two issues after he wrote that he was gay.

I don't want to got TOO off the beaten trail here; could someone just explain to me (quickly), about this SUDDEN secret that has been brought to life about The Beast? I mean, what is he, supposed to be a Thilly Thavage, or something to that effect?

Really quick...to piss off his ex, Beast told her he was gay. His little lie got out, and he's decided to just let people think, so he can be a role model to other gays.

With all due respect to the man & his body of work to date, I did not find THE KINGPIN to be @ all threatening, intimidating or imposing, just as I did not find MR. JOHN RHYS-DAVIES to be so when he created the role on tele.
