Ok, I bought the comic book adaptation today and I got home and feared for my life to read it. I was scared out of my mind that it would spoil some of the excitement of the movie, but then I just picked it up and read it. I'm not going to spoil anything for anyone who doesn't want to know anything about the movie, but the comic rocked and it just made the movie look even cooler. It does have some stuff in it that shocked me that I didn't that would happen in the movie but it doesn't ruin anything
BOTTOM LINE:anyone nervous about reading the adaptation has nothing to fear.
one more thing, it's really neat in the adaptation that the characters are drawn how they are in the comics, not in the likeness of the actors, thus matt murdoc looks exactly like matt murdoc and not like ben affleck and same with Elektra. The only ones that are after their movie counterparts are Kingpin and Bullseye

I totally agree, this was by far the best adaptation I have ever read. This was the first time I felt like I was reading a self contained comic and not just a promo for the movie. Far superior to the Spider-Man one from last year, that's for sure. As for the story itself, I was pleasantly surprised at how "adult" they have made it. It seems to be more along the lines of X-Men, where camp was avoided and the characters and their situations were taken seriously. I would personally have tweaked it a bit here and there, but I'll reserve full judgement until I see the actual movie.

I noticed this too and it was a wise move on Marvel's part. Funny thng is that I got so involved with the story that I stopped noticing Bullseye's new look and Kingpin's changed ethnicity almost immediately! This is a sign of strong story telling. I'm sure the finished film will also have the same effect.

MALLRATX2 & NORRINRAAD,
Thanks for the intel!
I have forgotten to inquire after this book repeatedly whenever I ventured into comic shops since having seen the film.
