View Full Version : Daredevil was a good movie!

I think alot of people were let down by the DD movie, but I liked it.
I thought that Ben Affleck was a good choice to play Matt Murdock/DD, even though at times in the movie his face looked like unshaped cookie dough (he always looks like that to me.) I am also looking forward to the sequel, and maybe the return of Bullseye?

probably not on your bullseye idea.
BUT,expect to see Mr.Fear and kingpin.
i'd also like to see frequent comedic appearances by STILT-MAN!
that would be funny, cuz he'd come in,walk on his stilts,DD would trip him,and then dd would go back to fighting serious guys, and stilt would say"THESE STILTS CAN NOT FAIL!"and dd would knock him down...again.

i have never heard of mr. fear.
who is he?
and i think bullseye should come back... adamantium skeleton and all.
and stilt man would be cool too.

I agree. I thought the movie was great. It did have some problems (story felt rushed, Kingpin fight scene was anti climatic), but some of that I heard will be fixed with the DVD release. I am excited to see that. In comparison I saw the Hulk last night. I felt the acting was much better in Daredevil, and it showed. I felt the Hulk needed a louder scream. Overall, it was a good movie, but it did not leave me wanting more. X Men 2 was good as well, but it did not leave me wanting more. When I walked out of Daredevil, I left wanting to see more of this character. There are so many possiblilites for sequels. I think that was a mistake the Hulk movie made. It didn't really have a villain to make it more interesting. I'm out.

The movie was the Batman and Robin of Marvel Movies.....
Jennifer Garner was totaly wasted in that movie....That's why they are doing an Elektra movie, to have her do something else then just be window dressing.

First of all, Daredevil was hands down better than any Batman or Superman Movie I ever saw (except for Superman 1 which was great for its day). I just never enjoyed any of them. They were all cheesy. Daredevil reminded me of alot of Unbreakable with Bruce Willis. Both movies left me with the feeling that I wanted to see more of this character. I guess to each his own, but I feel there is no comparison between DC and Marvel movies. It's like apples and oranges.
I feel the only thing keeping the Hulk from getting worse reviews is Ang Lee. I am sceptical of critics because of this. Their was simply nothing in the Hulk that was any better than Daredevil except for the CGI Hulk (That's a Biggie). He was absolutely awesome. They should have used him more.
And in regards to Elektra, you couldn't possibly have done an Elektra movie without her first appearing in Daredevil. It just wouldn't have worked. I feel another 15 or 20 minutes of screen time developing the characters would have done this movie wonders, but that doesn't make it a bad movie. Maybe not as good, but not bad.
And, the ultimate test was when my wife liked it. She has never read a comic book in her life, and she enjoyed the film. That tells me they did something right.

Don't get me wrong. I loved that movie. I think they did a very decent job at portraying the characters. But that movie was not better than the first Batman movie. I just had to get that out of my system.
Now comes the part where I relieve you, the little people, of the burden of your failed and useless lives. But remember, as my plastic surgeon always said: if you gotta go, go with a smile.

No problem. I don't expect everyone to have the same views as me. None of the Batman movies ever did anything for me. It is just not my style of movie or comic for that matter. The world in which the movie takes place comes off as a different type of place, not the real world. Even the characters seems different then real people. I don't enjoy that. Now I'm not saying there are real Daredevils, Hulks, or Xmen, but the worlds their movies take place in seem real. Heck, even Blade or Conan seemed more real to me than any Batman movie. But, like I said before. To each their own, and I respect that.

Well, Batman Returns is one of my favorite movies. I could definitely say that, for me, Daredevil is right up there with Batman 1.
I loved both movies and the DD movie got me more interested in reading DD comics now. Hell, it got me reading DD as often as I read Flash, Spidey, and Iron Man, just as Batmman got me interested in comics in the first place.

ok,i apologize for one thing:i forgot about adamantium skeleton on bullseye.they should put him in DD2.sorry!
as for mr.fear,i THINK(read director of DD mention him in DD2)takes your worst fear and place it in front of you.picture it:man without fear who meets a man who places fear inside of DD.wonderful!
i still want STILTS in this film.i also need to talk about JJ's thought.it was kinda bad.worse than hulk, anyway.but not a waste of jeniffer,it was good for her.uhh, how many films has she benin?is it DD and then Alias?or r there more besides ELEKTRA?

The film was fine, it really was. I would have cast DD differently (how many time's do I keep saying THAT, huh)? I loved Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell in it, their fight sequence was pretty damn good. I would have liked to have seen more evidence of Kingpin's tremendous strength, maybe another scene where he's beating the crap out of someone, instead of waiting till the end to bounce Affleck off of the ceiling.... but these are small points. The CGI could get laughable at times, I really hated the moment where there is that CGI of DAREDEVIL bouncing from window sill to roofs, that looked REALLY cheesy. But other than those little problems, I think it worked out as a fine C2F. And what with they made money wise on it, I think the sequal will be a much better experience, no doubt about it.
