View Full Version : Elektra movie storylines

Which storylines would people like to see developed in an Elektra movie?

We essentially had the "death" of Elektra in the Daredevil movie, although of course there was the suggestion that she didn't quite die at the end. I don't think they'll repeat that storyline in the Elektra film just for the sake of doing it properly (unless it's just a flashback to the DD movie).

Would anyone like to see the Elektra: Introspect storyline? It's the one where she gets captured and forced to face her actions and her past, and then has to eventually walk the road of redemption to becoming a better person. I don't imagine that would probably take place until a 2nd or 3rd movie, because Elektra hasn't even become a cold-blooded assassin in the films yet. I wonder if she ever would, with Jennifer Garner playing her?

Any ideas for plots then?

I alway thought that Elekra would become the 'cold hearted killer' after she came back from her 'death' in the DD film...sort of like any humanity she had died with her..

Somehow I have trouble seeing Jennifer Garner as a cold blooded killer. There's something very girl-next-door and cute about her.

The best cold blooded killers are the people you never suspect.

And that just sounded really creepy in my head after reading it. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif

That's very true. I mean no one suspects me of anything and I have to have a least a dozen bodies buried in my backyard.
Ok, that's not entirely true. They're actually buried in my neighbor's yard. No way am I messing up my lawn just to dispose of some corpses.

Sure you have my written confession, and that will get you pretty far in a court of law, but here's something you don't have.
The Bodies!
That's right I moved them. Where I will not say, but that little fact combined with the tenth generation clone of Johnny Cochrane I purchased on Ebay this morning, will go a long way towards keeping me free.
Ha, Ha.

This started off as speculation for the plot of an Electra movie but quickly degraded into a mindless discussion of lawn care, Johnny Cochrane, clones, dead bodies, and Ebay.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Well it's time to get back on topic here. What other ideas for Elektra storylines can you think of you would like to see?

How about Elektra going undercover as a stripper.

I heard something about Elektra being revived by the Hand (that's how she supposedly survived death by Bullseye in the DD movie) and then recruited as an assassin. It would be interesting seeing Jennifer Garner making the transition from Tycoon's daughter to ruthless killer. I just hope she gets the red costume. And maybe make it out of silk like I did in my picture or like it seems to be in the current Elektra comics.

I wish she already made it in this movie. We never got to see the real Elektra in this film, esepecially along side DD. Heck, she was more kick ass and bad ass when she met Matt in college in the comics. Hopefully we can see her in her full glory in her own film.

Was Elektra ever a nice, sweet girl in the Daredevil comics like she was in the movie, before becoming an assassin? Anyone know?

To bump this thread, no she wasn't! Hell, just after when they first met, Elektra lured Matt out into a park, got ahead of him, then left a trail of discarded clothes behind in the snow. He finds her on a cliff or something and she dives into a pond in her underwear. Leaving Matt jumping in after her only to crawl out of the pond in front of police with nothing but a pair of underwear. Another time, about to get mugged, she takes off her coat to reveal a skimpy black outfit and kicks the crap out of her attackers. Plus there's the mess the two of them left of Matt and Foggy's dorm room one night. It's that type of crazy intensity that drew me to the character, esepcially rereading it after meeting a certain girl. Well, things that crazy didn't happen, but there was an intensity with us and who knows what could have happened had things lasted. In the back of my mind I thought of some of those crazy scenes and was a bit scared off.

That is the Elektra I was hoping for in the DD movie. What we got was a gerneric and watered down love interest. Hell, even in this Elektra movie I barely saw a few scenes of that character in it.

As I said in another thread (http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/Forum1/HTML/001887.html), With Elektra they certainly took off her brutal edge. This was not the tough and crazy character I love. OCD? Please. What a lame tacked on Hollywood idea. Elektra has a lot deeper issues and more drive. Plus there was that whole daughter thing out of no where. I didn't get to finish that Redeemer book they took it from, but I knoew it wasn't as lame as it was here. Are we watching an Elektra movie or a Hillary Duff / Lindsey Lohan / (insert Disney starlet here) cheey teen girl movie? Please. This was not Frank Miller's memorable heroine. She too often became generic Hollwyood throwaway heroine #453.

I would kill to see Elelkra: Assasin done right with a good trippy sense and a real Mark Miller. The dream scene with Elektra in S&M gear with Mark on a leash is optional, but that certainly would blow away any weak little girl crap. Really, they said they based some of the movie off that book, but all I saw was they used Mark's name for a throwaway character with two meaningless kisses. When I saw the demon in the dream I thought of that scene in Assasin, but it wasn't anything near that cool spearing scene. Bah.

As mentioned in that thread, Kill Bill is quite similar to how Elektra should have been done. Maybe a bit less comedy and goofiness, but that unflinching feminine brutality was spot on. If only Tarentino could do an Elektra assasin movie. How long till we can forget this one and start a new and proper one.

Meh. For now I guess we'll have to be happy with some of the tough girls of Sin City to see some pure Frank Miller splatterings of estrogen and blood on the screen.

Boy, I couldn't agree with you more Xenos. Where was the Elektra I love? Assassin FOR the Hand, rejected by Stick, unflinching death dealing ELEKTRA!

So instead, we have some crappy Karate Kid meets pre-teen girl adventure flick. Ninjas that turn into green smoke when they die?! Psuedo violence, barely any sexuality at all...certianly not the ultra violent, ultra raw sexuality Elektra should have been.

Furthermore, I'm super pissed about Typhoid Mary. ARGH! Take a beautiful character study in female victimization/vengence in a patriarchal society, who's a bad-ass psycho-sexual schizophrenic killer, and water her down to...that!? She's inexplicably made chinese, then cast with a non chinese actress who wears eyeliner, she has some stupid Poison Ivy ripped off powers, and NO backstory. Maybe I should be thankful for that.

AND her kiss with Elektra, supposedly some big deal, was flat and devoid of sexuality, passion OR...acting? yes that's it. It could have been a big deal, in another movie, done correctly with these two very different models of highly sexual female killers.
