Okay, not much news has been going on with this one. There has been some talk about this movie jumping into pre-production, but alas not much director talk since the days of Oliver Hirschbiegel, and the exit of Del Toro.
I have heard that David Goyer may jump in and do it. Who all would you guys like to see ?
Thanks,
Doc F

Christophe Gans would be great.
Brotherhood of the Wolf has the proper tone and visuals, he is also going to be doing a big budget Bob Morane (the "French Indiana Jones" for the uneducated) movie, as well as Rahan.
He would be great !

You're going to hate me Doc F. but I'd like to see John Woo direct a Blade movie. I love his style and I would like to see him go back to making violent action flicks. It's what he does best and that's pretty much the best thing there is about the Blade films. I bet Woo can find all kinds of new ways for Blade to chop up vampires and throw in some good explosions too.

I'm not going to hate you D.K., John Woo would be cool. He was my original pick to do the Punisher, my only thing would be that you can probably find a more versatile Woo-like director that has yet to be given a really good chance to do some big work like Blade (i.e. Stephen Norrington).
I do think John Woo is overrated, yet I also feel he is very talented. I really do not dislike his style, just the movies he has done so far.
He wouldn't be bad, but Marvel is going to try and give someone new a shot, which is why I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Gans, or even Chris Cunningham (famous for the Aphex Twin videos)
Thanks,
Doc F

I wouldn't mind John Woo, but I would prefer to try a new director, and yes, the producers basically have been getting younger "Woo-like" directors for these films, albeit Del Toro is more from a Spainsh/Italian horror cinema point of view.
Chris Cunningham would be very good, as would Gans, neither will be approached unfortunately.
Its funny because I recall back when David Fincher was attached to the original Blade.

I would like to see Tom Tykwer tack a crack at it, or maybe Lars von Trier. I want someone from the Euro-scene that has does some quality art house work.
Tykwer's style would really compliment the Blade franchise well, and it might even make him achieve more fame in the States.
I could see John Singleton's name popping, up and boy would I hate that. he sucks.

--There was a rumor for awhile that Oliver Hirschbiegel (Das Experiment) was going to direct. Another German director that i think would be good is Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, Princess and the Warrior).
I wouldn't be surprised if David Goyer ends up directing though.

I think David Goyer is going to do it too.
I would love to see Tom Tykwer but that's not going to happen.
I also wouldn't mind seeing Tsui Hark try it, but he doesn't seem to do well with American productions.

In think its gonna be Goyer myself, that might be a good reward for his work on this franchise.

So is Goyer doing this thing or not? The director who was attached to Blade III dropped out of it and there still hasn't been an official director named. The movie is supposed to be released in 2004 and Goyer has stated that shooting starts in Septemeber this year. So what's going on?
