Recent Blade News

--There's been quite a bit of Blade III news recently as the PR machine rolls forward to the Summer 2004 release.
The recent picture of Ryan Reynolds and interview with David Goyer left me feeling a little better about the project.
Goyer has also talked about the possibility of a Nightstalkers spin-off film.
Also, quite a bit of information is out about Dracula and his role in the story.
It's all sounding pretty freakin' sweet.

I'm just happy that Dracula is in the film (though I don't know anything about Dominic Pursell, the actor portraying him). However, Parker Posey, Ryan Reynolds, Steve Braun, and Jessica Biel are all farely well known (with Posey being particularly respected), so things are looking good.

A couple of random thoughts. I was a little surprised to see this sequel has a $65 million budget. Not a fortune by today's standards, but Goyer, being Director, Screenwriter, and Executive Producer, sure has alot riding on this film. He better deliver. And Snipes getting a production credit was interesting too. He had said after the last film that he wanted to take a more active role in the second sequel's development, and he wasn't kidding.

August 13th can't get here fast enough...

--Now it's being reported that Blade III's release date is being pushed back to December.
While this isn't always a good sign, it DOES mean they'll have more time to do post-production and the SFX will probably reflect that extra time spent.
This also means I'll probably be able to see it opening night, now that it's not coming out the night before I get married!
