Very kewl, but I was hoping he'd be bigger. In the comic, Hellboy is a big mass of red flesh but it does't seem like that from the picture. Of course, it could just be the angle or something.

sweet as! once i cleared up the whole pony tail thing (that's actually the shadow on the background, and not a real long pony tail. his ponytail is kind of folded in half like a bun), i was mega excited!
i agree that the colour is a bit off, i expected him to be more red, but yeah, could be the lighting.
and it appears that he does have a right hand of doom after all, and not the left hand that was talked about. unless the pic has been reversed.

A design illustration done by Wayne Barlowe (http://www.comics2film.com/ImageFrame.php3?f_filename=hbmovie.jpg) waaaaaaay back in 1999 had the gauntlet on the left hand. This was supposedly at the request of Del Toro and done for a specific reason, although I have no idea what that reason was.

Anyhow, the gauntelet is now back on the right, where it belongs.

Well, I think it looks great. The lighting's a bit bright, mainly on his chrome dome, but I think it still looks good.

A friend thoughthe'd loko bulkier and I thought so too. Then I tought how it was a side angle and also there's no one next to him to compare his size to.

Ooooh. SUmmer 2004 is too far away.

In the script HB is descibed as being "monumental" and having "biceps the size of your leg." Although he appears as "normal-size Ron" in the picture (and Ron is quite large) I would expect some "Lord of the Rings" style trickery to bring Perlman up to Hellboy proportions. (I hope).

im I mistaken, or isnt Hellboy not that buff? i mean, ok i know he is realy realy tall, but he is also quite old, probabley around fiftey, around pearlmans age. but everytime ive ever seen him he looks more like a real man. i think pearlman's physique is just fine for hellboy, but a little trickery to make him seam taller and bigger would be cool.

I don't know if that particular shot is intended to have Baby HB in it, but if so I would imagine he will be CG. Baby Hellboy is pretty striking looking, with his giant golden eyes and that huge gauntlet stuck on his tiny arm.
