My idea is for the Batman to die, similar to the way he died in "The Death of Batman", but not exactly. He gets stuck in limbo (between Heaven and Hell) and is confronted by Deadman, the Spectre (Hal Jordan), and a number of other deceased characters from the Batman stories. He is given a choice to come back to Earth as a Spirit of Vengence and he gets some really cool powers in his ethereal form (instead of physical batarangs he shoots ephemeral, ectoplasmic batarangs that do indeed physically strike his enemy/enemies). He can now literally be in two or more places at once but only if he is needed. As a spiritual entity, he can divide himself to be of more use but he doesn't lose anything that he had or didn't have before being turned into a corporeal form. His costume is now white and not black, blue, or gray. The emblem on his chest is yellow and he no longer wears his utility belt. He can create almost everythig he has need of in the blink of an eye. He no longer wears a cape, but posesses the wings of a rather gothic angel and can fly. There's more to the story but I just want to know what you think so far. Feel free to leave your thoughts about how stupid the idea is.
