Okay, this is for eppie 2.19
Rose is surprisingly and vehemently opposed to Bernard's plan to create an S.O.S. signal; romantic sparks are rekindled between Jack and Kate when they trek into the jungle to propose a "trade" with "The Others"; and Locke begins to question his faith in the island. Source: ABC
My thoughts:
So, if they're trying to make a trade, then AnaL Sayid, and the hobbit never returned from the jungle. Is this more misdirection? Who knows?

Who said it was a trade for people it could be a trade for something in the hatch other than Gail...

By the by, if lazy did have a middle name, "Son of Gilbert" would be too fucking long to write out.

I think that if you've got a doctor's wife and a bushel of apples, you could have a lot of fun.

Don't make me explain the joke. It's a good joke. It's just too bad most people aren't bright enough to figure it out.

From Damon Lindelof via Kristen at E!
"Things are actually going to heat up a little bit between Kate and Jack in episode 19, which is Rose's and Bernard's flashbacks," Lindelof said.

sort of looks like jack gets caught in the net? wonder if Locke will trade his new friend for Jack if that is the "trade " everyone is talking about. OR may be the "prisoner" see someting in Locke and is sizing him up to to offer that Locke join the Others. OR maybe the "prisoner" is interested in Locke being able to walk again, assuming the he knew that fact that Locke was wheel chair bound. just some thoughts

I think in the preview, HG says "They'll never give you Walt," so I'm guessing that Walt is the trade.
But where the hell is Michael???

Well, now we know where Micheal was....sort of. This was a "sweet" episode. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Oh thank god....Rose & Bernard aren't screwed up! They're just in love! Which...hmm, I guess is sort of the same thing...just with more screwing. Either way, glad there weren't any horrible problems behind them. Rose isn't a serial killer, she just has cancer. Bernard isn't a total *******, he just loves his wife. Huzzah!
As for the rest of it? It was good...if not groundbreaking. I mean, we all sort of knew the island was healing people, that aspect was just confirmed here. The whole "chi centerpoint" thing is interesting, and it does suggest that they were all brought to that island "for a purpose" of some sort, because that island is where they belong.

So it looks like the show finally remembered that Michael and Walt are still out there somewhere. I was wondering when it would get back to them.
I haven't commented on an episode in a while since I was behind. It feels good to be caught up. These past several episodes with "Henry Gale" have definitely been *very* interesting. :D

Definitely a calmer vibe to the flashbacks this episode, and I loved how they showed the growing/changing relationship between Rose and Bernard. I'm also glad they're getting back to Michael, no one had even mentioned him lately.
And I wonder how long it will be before Locke attempts to get that door down again to look at the map ... he's obsessed by the thing, and so much for "I'm done with the hatch." That lasted all of an hour? :D

At the end of last night's episode, all I could think was "haven't I seen this before?" Last season, Claire went missing for many episodes until she stumbled out of the jungle. This year, Michael goes missing and, again, he comes stumbling out of the jungle.
I liked Rose and Locke's moment on the beach. It harkened back to the first episode of the series where the two of them sat seperately, serenely looking out at the ocean. They both knew the island was special, right away.

Rose's energy healer mentioned that he harnesses magnetic forces to heal. People have speculated that the loud sound the "island" makes when the countdown reaches 10 seconds is a magnet. Based on what the energy healer said, I'm going to assume that they are correct. He told Rose that another place, with stronger energy, might be able to heal her - it seems she found it on the island.
The question, now, is why was Rose healed? What purpose does she serve?

This episode kinda supports what those hieroglyphics say (I think).
From what I posted in the thread "2:14 "One of Them"".
I found a hieroglyph online that looks almost identical to that sequence which means "to make healthy" especially if that second symbol is a small bird, different than the other one. Of course, that could probably be interpreted as "purify".
Maybe the island is purgatory, the place where souls go to work through their lives' events to cleanse or "purify" the souls to enter heaven. The existence of the "Dharma" group works into this because of what "Dharma" is...
From Wikipedia.com (don't forget your grain of salt!)
Dharma (Sanskrit: धर्म) Dhamma [Pali] means Natural Law or Reality, and with respect to its significance for spirituality and religion might be considered the Way of the Higher Truths. Dharma forms the basis for philosophies, beliefs and practices originating in India. The oldest of these, widely known as Hinduism, is Sanatana Dharma or Eternal Dharma. Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism also retain the centrality of Dharma. In these traditions, beings that live in harmony with Dharma proceed more quickly towards Moksha, Dharma Yukam, Nirvana, or personal liberation.
Of course, I could just be talking out my ass.......what does everyone else think?

Haven't the creators already flat out stated they aren't in purgatory?
Minion: Isn't positive about that, but swears it was in an interview.

Dharma in Buddhism and Sikhism refers to teachings. People live in harmony with the teachings or Dharma and that helps lead them to Nirvana or Moksha.

I love that the faith healer WASN'T a charlatan. He couldn't heal her, he told her the truth, and he was fully willing to give Bernard his money back. And he knew that there was another place that could heal Rose.

I just wanted to ask something for other 'Scapers like me...
Did you look at the "faith healer" and immediately see him in the Scorpius outfit, and continue to see him that way for the rest of the scene? :D
Note: I knew he was coming from the very beginning of the episode once I saw "Wayne Pygram" in the credits. :D

Nope, I was able to separate him from Scorpius pretty early on.
I just FINALLY saw Crash last night. Is the actress who played the young Persian girl the name actress who plays Nadia on Lost? I don't know her name.
