Cowboy Bebop Live Action

Okay Here's the deal, for the last year or so I've been wondering about a live action Cowboy Bebop. After seeing the poster by WeaponX I almost exploded in disagreement. I was wondering if people had any suggestions for a live action cast. Ed doesn't matter becasue she can possibly be transferred from anime. So give it a shot!

A cowboy bebop live action movie would kick-ass!!!

I don't think that Brad Pitt would be good for spike. He's got the charm, and definitely the acting skills, but not the look.

Norton, on the other hand, seems just about right.

As for Jet, Ron Perlman could do it, but there is probly someone better out there, i just don't know who. But i would be fine with him, i'm a big fan of his!

Faye seems tricky to me. I have a hard time imagining ANY real-life person playing her. I suppose doherty could do it... I really dont know.

Doherty is too ugly to play Faye. Milano is too brainless.

I think Colin Farrell would be good for Spike. He can totally pull off looking calm, even bored, in the midst of a huge gun fight, and shooting an arrogant smile just before he sticks his foot in some loser's face. I can also see him pissing Faye off better than any other actor.

Don't know who I'd like to play Jet.

I like Weapon X's casting with my DCG casting of Kelly Hu as Faye. Also, I think Lee Lee Sobieski is the spitting image of Julia. Plus she's a great actress.

Acutally, I dunno about Dorf for Spike. Yet I definately don't like Norton, especailly his voice. Pitt could work better, at least voice wise.

Man, looking at all my posters and figures, I dunno.

Hey, what about John Cusack? I was orignally gonna cast him in my DCG pic, but I already had him as Wolfwood in my Trigun one for the same theme day.

Man, I rather dunno about Spike.

As for Ed... dear goodness you may need to resort to CGI unless you can find a young actress with the young acting abilites of Haley Joel Osmet crossed with the insanity Jim Carrey.

Hey, if I were gonna direct a live action CB, I'd just do it without Ed. She couldn't transfer into live-action, so why try.

Colin Farrel's okay, but I personally don't see him as laid back enough, but I haven't seen him in much. Ed Norton I chose simply because his face was the spitting image of Spike's. Brad Pitt still sticks in my head as perfect for playing the character, his voice would be perfect, too.

As for Faye, I think she's not that bright a character, so Milano could play her fine. I pretty much wanted to stay away from any actor who smiles too much (i.e. Cameron Diaz). Faye doesn't smile too much.

Hey here's an idea! Howabout Carrot Top with his hair dyed green for spike! And if he's too busy with his 1-800-BLAH-BLAH-BLAH commercials, Pauly Shore could do it! I'm sure he needs work!

Or they could do it saved-by-the-bell style, with Zach as Spike, Principal Belding as Jet, and Kelly as Faye.

Now i'm gonna go borre these horrible ideas out of my head by taking a power drill to my right temple.

So I watched ron Perlman in a film th other day, and I realized how wrong I was. Now I'm not sure at all who would makea good Jet. One idea I've been tossing around that I saw on the net:

The one thing I liked about WeaponX's movie poster is that all of the guys are cheap (except for Diaz), My problem is all I can seem to think in is Big stars (although I think Spike needs to be a big star).

Okay, I finally decided who I really want as Spike :

Benicio Del Toro.

He is an amazing actor and could easily communicated the uber-coolness of spike.

Sure he's not an exact replica of Spike from the show, but that's what makes so many comic book films bad is that they try and make people look like comics charaters, which doesn't usually work.

I dunno. She's pretty damn fine looking, but for Faye? Well, she's a bit too flat for the role. Nothing against girls with smaller busts, Milla is quite beautiful and sexy, but the character of Faye does have somewhat larger breasts.

Anyway, I really don't know if a Bebop live action movie would work at all. We have the series and a movie already. The only thing I could see is if it was done as a new story like the last movie. Only this time instead of animating it, do it live. Though for some reason I think animation would be cheaper and just be better for the story and characters.
