Otakon 2003 report

Well, today I'm heading out for Otakon. I should return having heard stuff. THough I must admit you can find faster and better coverage from Anime On DVD and Anime News Network. I should have some fun stories and photos though.

Nope, though there is one online somewhere. Got it save on my dorm PC. Though I did hear Stand Alone Complex was bumped up to like 50 eps.

It actually wasn't that much going on this year. Friends who went last year said it was rather dead. Plus there were no big announcements. The biggest licencing announcement was Gundam Seed from Bandai, but that was like a 'no duh' anyway.

Now the Dealer's room, that was insane. You of course grab as much free stuff was possible. Viz had some very nice cloth bags. Pioneer had some cool fans for Heat Guy J and Hebenmei Renmei. They also had small lupin posters and very very nice quality large Sakura Wars posters. They also had a trailer DVD and a really nice deck of cards. ADV had come cool anime network pens and a DVD of trailers. They also had bags for posters, tahnkfully, since I grabbs a TON of Witch Hunter Robin ones at the Bandai booth. Of course I'm giving most of them away at our anime club... of course.. It's not like I could plaster all my walls with the.. hmmm... Well I also got a WHR t shirt.

Oh and the coolest thing I got there...The Witch Hunter Robin 1st DVD.. free.. and 3 months before its release!!!! HUAZZAH! I saw it and knew it was mine. They gave out five of them by asking trivia at the bandai panel. I got the last one. It is the preciousss. It is miiiinee.
