Dear goodness... how to describe this anime.. where to start?

Ok.. there’s a jungle. Ok.. um.. there’s this kid Hale (or Harre)(no relation to the title). He lives with his mom Weda in the jungle. She runs into this little girl named Guu who she takes in to live with them. Guu is strange and drives Hale nuts with her strange shenanigans. One time she stole the Afro chest hair of the village’s chief and then.. wait.. let’s go back. Guu is strange. She has people, and cats and pandas and buildings, an entire world, in one of her stomachs. Hale finds this out the hard way. Guu can be a cute and sweet little girl and other times she is deadpan and down right Chris Walken-esque. If Christopher Walken was a cute little girl... he’d be Guu. I have no clue how else to compare her. She is that weird. And very very funny, especially when she’s gettilg hale into trouble and driving him mad. Plus there is an entire other cast of characters. Like the school teacher who always takes naps, the chief with the large amount of chest hair, Dr. Clive who may have a past with the mother, Wiggle the schoolkid who’s always laughing, Dama the lonely old woman who has a thing for Dr. Clive, and the list goes on. There are a number of characters, but all are handled well and create quite an atmosphere. Oh and then there are the Pokute, the strange animals in the jungle who the villagers worship as gods and use as a food source. It’s so freaking hilarious but you cannot put it into words. The atmosphere and timing and just the way it fits together in such a funny way needs to be seen to be understood. Words fail in describing it and you have to see it and laugh your pants off to get it. Trust me, if you can get into the oddness, it’s a funny story as well as one that gets you involved and interested with the characters. So far it’s only available in Japan and as fansubs. Honestly, I cannot wait for it to get picked up here, but I cannot imagine how they would sell it. It’s just so brilliantly unique and has to be seen to be understood, so please do check it out.

“But you don’t have to take my word for it.” *budaumbum!* Here are some reviews from others:

I was first introduced to it thanks to our good friend (and my roomate) Killer Tofu. I asked him if he wanted to start this thread and he said it was time for those who he infected to spread on their own. Oh and don't worry, there are no mechs.. kinda. There was this one ep, but it was so weird.. and.. well.. there were no mechs, not that it's a bad thing. ANYWAY.. so.. get infected with the 'Love Tropicana' virus and all the lunacy that is Jungle Hale Nochi Guu.

Oh and I found a link to Bit Torrents to download episodes of this anime.
http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/32.html

Now, Bit Torrent is a wonderful file sharing / distrbution system. It is described in their FAQ here (http://www.animesuki.com/faq.php) if you have questions.

Now I guess being the moderator I have to establish a rule for fansubs. Here is a good a place as any. Fansubs of series not liscenced in the states are debatably legal. Usually companies and laws are leinent on these. Fansubs of ones liscenced in the US, like Bebop or Hellsing, can definately not be legally distributed. Unliscenced stuff is debateable, liscenced stuff is not. So, as long as a series is unliscenced, I say share the files and build up a fanbase and interest in the series and I hope you support the company that does pick it up in the states. Most fansubbers are quite repectful once things do get liscenced and Anime Suki here is also quite repectful too. so they are a good site to link to.

Now some groups, like Anime Junkies, are real jerks to companies (and also are bad translators). This recently started a debate over at ANN. If you are interested in that and other fansub issues, check out their editorials here (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature.php?id=141).

So, with all that said, enjoy this fansub and others.
