Hey, Has Twentieth Century Fox released any news regarding the live-action DBZ Movie? So far the only thing I've heard is that the movie will chronicle the Saiyan Saga and they've tapped Goldberg to play Nappa.

I really hope that Twentieth-Century Fox doesn't ruin this license. I personally don't believe that a Live-Action DBZ can be done. However, being that everyone said the same thing about a live action X-Men, I will give the studio the benefit of the doubt...

This movie I think would be very difficult to cast for. Hmmm.... beyond that point, what will they do with the hair? Riddle me this, are they going to make it realistic and shorten it or go with the show's hair and take the chance of screwing it up? Curiouser and curiouser.....

Now comes the part where I relieve you, the little people, of the burden of your failed and useless lives. But remember, as my plastic surgeon always said: if you gotta go, go with a smile.

I think we can disregard any casting or even director news right now. I think it's in the works and that's about it. Tje Saiyen Saga thing might be right.

The last time I saw them make an anime into a live action it was Fist of Northstar and it was freaking aweful. I doubt this will be any better.

No adaptation could ever be as bad as the live action Fist of the Northstar. That was cheesy B movie crap. I think DBZ could be a great movie in the right hands. Just think, the subway fight between Neo and Agent Smith in the first Matrix movie--only faster and with explosions. If its really done well then people will still love it even if they aren't really sure what's going on. I know that's how I felt when I first watched Highlander.

As for the hair thing, the drawings are just exaggerated versions of how asian haircuts look. I say cast actors from Hong Kong cinema and don't go the Anglo-Saxon route.

There's thousands of DBZ websites but here's a reliable source of information.

After seeing Matrix Revolutions I'm coming around a bit. A DBZ style fight in live action might not look so ridiculous. To the contrary it could look really freaking cool. But, no matter what, it would still just be playing catch up to the fight between Neo and Smith in Revolutions. Man that fight was awesome!

But the hair and story and stupid characters are still something to get around. I can't help but think the movie would be complete comedy. We'll see though.

A few nights ago I was up late and around Mindnight or 1 am on this Spanish language movie channel that is on basic regular tv here in San Antonio they were playing this really weird movie that I instantly recognized as a live action Dragon Ball film! I checked the TV guide channel and sure enough that’s what it was. Master Roshi and Goku were instanly recognizable, but I couldn’t tell who any of the other characters were. They were fighting these goofy aliens that looked as if they escaped from the set of Power Rangers and both sides were using a lot of machine guns to completely obliterate each other. Lots of explosions and bodys flying in this thing. :!: :!: :!: Anyone have any idea when this was made or what country it was made in? Is it Japanese or something else? I think the full title was "Dragon Ball and the Magic Crystals" or something like that. Crazy. I hope that a current live action version would be better.

Yeah, Xenos, that was it! Absolutely one of the worst things that I ever saw! I’m glad that I actually only watched about 10-15 min. of it, and even that was too much!
