Interesting. I had not heard of that Las aventuras de Fly. must be one of those series, from the early 90s, that just never made it to the US, but was in Eurpope.

Oh, ok. It's based on the Dragon Quest series of video games. I have heard of those.

Lord knows one of my favorite mangas, Tsutomu Nihei's Blame!, was huge in Europe and has been there for a couple of years. Only tihs past year has it made it over to the US.

I love FMA. Seen the series on US TV and bought all the manga from Viz.

I gave up on Naruto a long time ago. I was first introduced to it at MIT's anime club. Now there's an interesting fan collective. Even they seemed to get sick of the cliffhangers and drawn out episodes. I know many friends have jumped ship to Bleach now that the fansubs of the series have degreaded into bland filler not based on the manga.

On the other hand One Piece is an amazing shonen title. I don't think it drags on anywhere near as much as Naruto. My roomate follows the fansubs. While I usually am outspoken for supporting the American release, the US company that got the show is terrible. They're not releasing an uncut and subtitled version and they edited the show to babyish levels. I am disgusted by what the censors think kids can and cannot handle. Plus not releasing an uncut DVD for fans is insane in this age.
