I just watched WXIII Patlabor 3 The Movie today. If you've ever watched a Patlabor movie then you know "exciting" is not a word to describe one of them. They are more like Law & Order movies with Mechas. But that's part of the appeal for me anyways. The 3rd movie pretty much follows the same formula as the first two except you hardly even see the Labors in this one. Just like the other Patlabor flicks, the plot in this one moves at a deliberate pace so that the action scenes are built up to seem more dramatic than they would be in the average anime. But I don't think the conspiracy plot in this movie holds up as well as the plots in the first two films. Still, this movie has a monster scene in the middle of it that rivals any live action horror or sci-fi film you will ever see. The suspense literally had me at the edge of my seat.
If you liked the first two Patlabors films then you'll probably be able to enjoy this one, but if you didn't like them then you could probably skip it. Overall I'd give 2.5 stars out of 4.

All my friends are into Bleach. They keep raving about how good it is. I just haven't had time to watch or read it. I know Bleach is also getting to be THE big anime to cosplay at cons like Full Metal Alchemist and Naruto before it.
I dunno, I guess I'm behind the curve. I'm still cosplaying from Trigun. Then again, you don't see too many Legatos, nevermind ones that are actually guys. Also, the Trigun manga is totally awesome and much better than the series.
As for Naruto, I rather got tired of it. It started to drag out too long. One of the anime clubs at my school is filled with Narutards (what they call themselves). If it wasn't for the fighting game and Rock Lee, I would say that I don't like Naruto.
Acutally, if you wanna see these Narutards in action, here's their cosplay group from Anime Boston 2005:

I saw Planet Survival or Uninhabited Planet Survive or, as we just called it, UPS. It was pretty neat. I saw some of it when a friends was watching it. A bit kiddie, but still neat.
Recently i saw the new film The Girl Who Lept Through Time. It was pretty neat, especially if you enjoy slice of life and time travel stories.

My college's club is thinking about showing Beck and Nana this semester. I was hoping we'd have time to show some Hellsing Ultimate. I just picked up the third volume / movie and it is gorgeous. Vol 3 is finally at some new material, stuff from the manga that wasn't adapted in the TV show.
