The trailer (http://www.apple.com/trailers/artisan/the_punisher/trailer/) is online now.
I think they kind of rushed it out because there isn't much in the trailer that would make any person who doesn't know who the character is go see this movie. Thomas Jane's voice sounds cool and he looks good with the Punisher bulletproof vest on but that's about the only positive thing I can say about this flick from the trailer. And, like I suspected, Rebecca Romijn Stamos looks as good as ever. The really sad thing is the trailer makes Travolta look cheesey, like Battlefield Earth cheesey. In a nutshell, the trailer is bad but I'm hoping that the director is working hard in post production to make sure the movie isn't.

Yeah, they need a new trailer ASAP. I got a feeling this craay feeling may jsut be due to bad trailer cuts and not be reflective of the whole film. Everything else sounded good, and now this *meh* trailer pops out.
Though did anyone else notice the brief glime of the Russian?
And I wodner if it's impossible to make Romaijn-Stamos homlier for his neighbot. Maybe that's as bad as she coul;d possibly look. Heh.
And dear crap, stop using that 'Bodies Hit the Floor' song! HTye alreayd used it for a DD trailer... why the hell use it here?! It's os dman over played. No disrepect to the late lead singer, but let the song rest in peace as well!
And yeah, the 'Vice City' Florida setting sucks. But it's there, so here's hoping they can work with it and still make it dark. Though I really wish tehy cut out the first few scenes of the trailer. Seemed too much fluff.

Honestly, that trailer makes 'The Punisher' look every bit as good, exciting and well-made as the Dolph Lundgren original.
That's not a compliment.

Yeah, Frank Castle shot himself in the foot today, sadly. That was a pretty poor trailer, nothing impressing about it at all... And I agree, Drowning Pool is being run into the ground.

The thing that worries me, is that I may still give this movie a chance, but many fans and non-fans will see this and then want to avoid it at all costs. One of my roomates is one of them. I can't show him this or else I'll never hear the end of how bad this will be.

Oh shit, that's really bad news if they are going to show this trailer before Matrix Revolutions. Imagine how many people will see it and say "there's no way in hell I'm watching that crap" and then do as you suggested and avoid it at all costs.
PRODUCERS: PULL THIS TRAILER AND BURN IT! ERASE EVERY COPY SO THAT IT NEVER SEES THE LIGHT OF DAY(or darkened theater)EVER AGAIN!

I saw it in front of Revolutions. You know, it seemed easier to digest on the big screen, for some reason.

it's definitely not the most thrilling trailer. terrible choice of music, not enough bad ass, and no real memorable moment of the trailer. i want to like this movie....so lets hope it just is a terrible trailer. i think thomas jane has the stuff, especially after reading an earlier interview with him.
heck the trailers for reloaded and revolutions were decent....then i went and saw the movies....if i wanted philosophy and obscure references i would go watch dennis miller read nietzsche.

Saw "Revolutions" last night. "The Punisher" trailer played with it. I have to admit, it did play better on the big screen.
THEY HAD THE FREEKIN VOICE! no offence to the dude who does who does that, but man that voice is over, modern trailer makin 101 man, let the movie sell itself not some deep raspy narrative from a wanna be actor.

ROBBO,
To me, that is good news, since I thought that aside from the fact that he was denied the right to wear the skull emblazoned on his chest, MR. DOLPH LUNDGREN *was* THE PUNISHER™. 8)

I think what people have to keep in mind, is that sometimes you see the ENTIRE film in trailers........which is never a good thing. I think it's actually good if they don't have much to show in the trailer of this film. I remember seeing the early 30 second version and thinking "that's all I want to see", because I thought it was very interesting watching and listening to Thomas Jane and just hinting at who this character is....... not giving away all that much about him. I think we should all just RELAX....... and just wait for this puppy to come out. That's the problem sometime's with people who are fan's of a comic..... they get impatient and don't want to give something a chance. Let's just be PATIENT and WAIT peeps, before we start sending this film to the gallows!
