View Full Version : Punisher 2 - A Teaser!
In this news bit today, Tom Jane apparently revealed that he just filmed a teaser for Punisher 2. It also says that he's trying to get it moved to the borroughs of New York and hopefully Jigsaw will be the villain. I'm getting really pumped! 'Punisher' wasn't perfect, but I still loved it and highly anticipate a sequel. It's a shame though that it doesn't look likely that Joan the Mouse, Spacker Dave and Mr. Bumpo will be returning.
But anyways, back to that teaser, I can't wait to see it! It probably won't be much, like the first Punisher teaser, but still enough to make us fanboys wet our britches.

i think it again shows what a great guy Thomas Jane is. people were way too hard on that first film, he nailed the punisher in my opinion. now the story and stuff, it could have used work....but you know, i've seen far worse. the fight scene with the russian was great....not only a good fight scene, but also comedic at times. i think jane likes the character and really wants to get into some of the darker punisher stuff, which i think would help it out. can't wait to see the teaser.

Well, wobble my webs and call me shaky! I honestly didn't think we were going to see a Punisher sequel. This is definitely a pleasant surprise. And it seems that the new film will be moved back to New York and Jigsaw will be the villain (though the producers of "Saw" may have a problem with that)!
I don't mind the idea of Jane returning as Frank, though I feel the whole Saint connection should just be forgotten. I'd also like to see some of the inconsistencies in the first film's tone corrected. Ennis' characters worked well within the confines of the stories he was telling, but the movie couldn't seem to settle on one narrative style. It seemed to want to be a blend of 70s revenge flick and black comedy, but the director didn't have the chops to pull this off. As long as the sequel finds its tone, it should be good. And while we're at it, I wouldn't mind seeing a few lesser-known Marvel characters thrown in too.

Only just saw the original.
Its enjoyable, but stupid. There was no where near as much violence as i thought there'd be, there were so many continuity errors and a lot of things just didnt make any logical sense. Florida is also a terrible setting for this kind of movie.
BUT it was made on a shoestring (comparitively) and at high speed, and the acting was fine.
A sequel wouldnt be bad, at least they have an opportunity to improve on what they did, and it sounds like Jane really has a genuine respect for the character-it could work, but i wont be waiting for it.
