Well, how about it?

I'm probably in the minority on this subject, but I always disliked WW's color scheme. Gold, blue and red (and white). Too colorful and too similar to Ol' Big Blue. Nothing about that costume design says "creature of mythology" to me. I liked her modified outfits in KINGDOM COME ... both the golden armored version and the hipless dress version.

The red, white and blue motiff doesn't make sense for WW. She is not American, and certainly feels no special ties to this country the way Superman does. Here's my suggestion for a movie WW (it'll happen, don't worry, it'll just be later rather than sooner) costume : use the hipless dress design from KINGDOM COME, keep the gold where it is, replace the red and blue with silver or white (lose the stars), exchange the red boots with either old-style battle-sandals (like in THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN) or barefoot with wings attached to her ankles (for that mystical demi/goddess aesthetic). Anyways, those're just my ideas ...

Actually, Wonder Woman's color scheme makes perfect sense. Her armor was designed after the colors worn by Diana Trevor, the pilot who sacrificed herself to save the Amazons from Doom's Doorway. Hyppolyta even went so far as to name her daughter after this valiant woman. If the WB takes away that aspect of Wonder Woman's life, that would kind of cheapen her grand and beautiful mythos set up by George Perez.

Just my 2 cents!

Red White and Blue isn't specific to America. There are other countries around the world that have those colors and some even have stars in their flags as well. I say leave the costume as is.

i live in the philippines and our flag's colors include red, white and blue AND some stars. i'm not sure but i think there are other asian countries that also have the same colors. on the note of WW's costume, rayray said it all. it was designed in honor of the coat of arms worn by diana trevor. public opinion on the costume has been mixed since it's debut, i think. i personally like it. my brother doesn't. my sister did. my mother doesn't. oh well... preferences are subjective. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/smile.gif

I vote for keeping the traditional costume, even though I always liked Donna Troy's better (the red body suit with the stars). Wonder Woman is supposed to be an ambassador for the Amazons yet she herself acknowledges that when she addresses the United Nations her appearance prevents her from being taken seriously. This sets up a plethora of possible themes that could be addressed, including prejudice, animosity towards unfamiliar cultures, gender biases, women operating in male-dominated circles, and so on. These are the kind of issues I would like to see raised in a Wonder Woman movie, along with the requisite super-heroics and action.

I would like her costume to stay basically the same, but not EXACTLY. I think the WW across her chest should be elaborated on more and given more of a thick armor look. Maybe a bit like her Kingdom Come battle armor, though not quite as thick.

I honestly think that they probably should use the Kingdom Come Wonder Woman costume.

I hope you all realize that Wonder Woman came to America to deffend her against the Nazis during WW II. That is why her costume is red white and blue and has everything to do with America.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Kingdom Come style costume, if it's the same one i'm thinking of. Is it the one which has had a DC Direct action figure made of it recently? That one was practically the same as the classic, but had a sort of dress/tunic/loincloth thingy instead of a swimsuit bottom. That could look sexy and also more in keeping with a classical Greek style costume, as well as staying true to the traditional WW costume.

Should WW wear sandals or boots? I'm pretty sure there's a version of WW with sandals, if i'm not mistaken.

All Superheros fought Nazi's during that time period. I have some old cartoons of Supes v. Nazis as well.

However, in her current continuity she did not come 'to fight nazi's'. She came to teach man's world peace, primarily and to act as an ambassador for her people. (and thanks to damn Bryne Hippolyta did most of the Nazi fighting, rather than Diana)

I think the nazi thing is overdone.
