View Full Version : Who would be the best choice for the role of Wonder Woman

I have heard that Sarah Michelle Gellar has expressed interest in the role, yet Wonder Woman is supposed to be an Amazon right? I think that Sarah Michelle Gellar just wouldn't work since she's like 5 feet 3 inches tall. Now, on the other hand there are a couple others I could see doing it that are also Buffy/Angel alumni. I could definetly see Charisma Carpenter filling the shoes of Wonder Woman. She's exquisitely beautiful, and Amazonian herself. Two others I could see would be Amy Acker of Angel and Eliza Dushku of Buffy, Angel, and Tru Calling. I have been an avid fan of Joss Whedon's work, and I feel that utilizing someone from one of his past projects would be great. Still, my money is on Charisma Carpenter. Let me know what you think.
I believe there already is a casting thread for Wonder Woman. You just have to scroll down for it (where it says show threads from last 30 days) - pick a greater number of days or "all threads".
In any event, I wouldn't exactly call Charisma Carpenter Amazonian - she's more maternal these days than Amazonian. She's a better choice than SMG, but I'd prefer a fresher face, not "Cordelia". And Amy Acker isn't exactly WW material either - too much of a sweet Texan girl.
Surely one can look to casting choices beyond Angel and Buffy?
Meoww! Send in the clowns!
Welshcat is right, there's already a topic for Wonder Woman casting. Please discuss this subject there.

Okay let's rehash this topic again. I'm really pleased with Joss Whedon taking reins on this script since he did great work on Buffy and Angel. (Sorry I've never seen Firefly.) But again here all the possible candidates for the role of Wonder Woman.
Charisma Carpenter: Beautiful but not big name so unless Joss pulls some strings, I don't think she's in for the count.
Eliza Dushku: Great actress but plays great psychopaths and troubled girls.
Amy Acker: The Texan thing does interfere with visualizing her in the role.
Juliet Landau: Excellent actress for Shakespearean roles.
Sarah Michelle Gellar: Yes, I agree she's too thin and too short for the role.
Now for the other actresses.
Angelina Jolie: Great choice. Oscar performer bombed as Lara Croft.
Lucy Lawless: Turned down Wonder Woman the first time. Better off as Hippolyta.
Catherine Zeta Jones: Greek and an Oscar winner too. But better suited for Hippolyta.
Jennifer Connelly: My personal favorite. But might be past her prime for the role.
Mia Kirschner: Beautiful woman but more of an indie actress.
Melina Kanakaredes: Could have worked a decade ago but now better suited for Hippolyta.
Jordan Bayne: Rumor mill said she had the role and even looked the part but virtually unknown so the chances are slim to none.
Famke Janssen: She's Jean Grey/Phoenix already!!
Jennifer Garner: Definitely, if she didn't accept the Elektra role.
Shannon Elizabeth: Stick to comedy. Obviously, you haven't seen 13 Ghosts.
Jennifer Lopez: JLO has got to go!!!
Eva Mendez: Very exotic but can she pull off a Greek accent?
Sandra Bullock: Had the role but turned it down. Good thing too.
Minnie Driver: Sweet thing but not Wonder Woman.
Denise Richards: Limited acting range.
Carmen Elektra: Fake boobs does not constitute believability!
Julie Strain: Pethouse Pet, soft core porn model. NO NO NO
Emma Rossum: Very pretty but too young for the role.
Jennifer Anniston and Courtney Cox: Say no to Friends.
Charlize Theron: Good candidate. We'll see how Aeon Flux does.
Evangeline Lily: T.V. actress. Chances very slim.
Okay everyone will want to vote for their fave or disagree with me so let's reopen this thread and see what happens. http://www.comics2film.com/UBB/biggrin.gif
