--So, rumblings have once again surfaced of a possible Blade TV series being produced. It has been rumored both that it could be animated or live action.
What do you want to see?

I think it should definately be hard core animation, like Spawn or even the Animatrix cartoons. As for the Saturday morning cartoon, well, it would be kind of difficult to translate an R rated movie franchise into something that kids should watch. Even though the first time I saw Blade was on Spider-Man, but that was before the movies came out. And as for live action, well, it'll be too expensive to keep up with stunts and CGI needed to make it look good.

You know how the current generation animation cartoon series of He-Man and Tranformers is, I think they should run it that route. With a PG-13 feel, or save it for ADULT SWIM time frames. Because, if it features horrific characters, some children's consciousness are not ready for those type of visual and mental intensities. If they feature it with an ADULT SWIM type of violence and maturity level, I think the Blade Series for TV would be an excellent success with Veterans of the genre, and teens alike, and fans of the series.

I have this discussion quite frequently on the Blade Trinity boards. One person is convinced it will be a Blade preqel/young Blade. He's convinced a lot of people, too, even though he really can't back it up.

I thought it would continue where Trinity leaves off, where Blade goes ronin like, with the occasional episode where he is young Blade in flashbacks.

Yeah, I hope it picks up where Trinity (BLADE) left off at. Blade's body overcame that virus, and so, he's not only adapted and converted a DRACULA KILLING VIRUS into something that benefits his body, but, "he's molded it, crafted it, formed it to work for his benefit internally". So, he's a True Immortal now. He's the New Dracula. One, who if allows his "thirst" to overcome him, could cause a dramatic shift in the human enviorment, if he bites someone who transforms and doesn't understand the "gift" that they've receieved and uses that power for evil.

Wow, you see where I'm going with this, huh? A new era in Blade!

I like the idea of the BLADE cartoon series on MTV.I hope the cartoon series to follow the comic book.As for the live tv show on spike tv it should pick up where Trinity left off i mean that is they are going to do the show.

Well, just got through reading the lastest issue of Wizard, and they've reported that Spike TV (WWE's Network for Manly Macho Men) ordered a two-hour pilot for a Blade television series. It's not known if Wesley Snipes is playing Blade or not, but David Goyer (wrote all the Blade films) is executive producer. The pilot is scheduled to air early 2006. Well, anyone want to talk about it?

--Last I heard it will be a live-action series. But I can almost guarantee that Snipes won't be in it. Despite the fact that many film actors are trying their hand at TV, I don't think he'd ever consider it. He'd probably view it as a step down.
I'm hoping its a prequel series, starting with his encounter with Whistler.

IMO, they should have killed of Blade, because the last one in the trilogy was a complete waste of 1 hour and 45 minutes of my life. The 1st Blade is to me the reason why comic book movies really hit big now even before X-men came out, although Matrix films can attribute to the influx in Super hero characters as well. If you watch the commentaries on the first Blade dvd , Goyer describes super heroes as our generation's classics; our Greek Gods and myth's.

Blade Trinity lacked a sense direction with redundant action , rappy character development and a God awful villain who did absolutely nothing but seem disenfranchised with modern vampires and decided to "conceed' defeat to Blade and giving him one last gift for his valiance as the only other Daywalker.....crapola. Blade should have died alongside Blade in an ultimate showdown of Good and Evil. it beats the hell out of me why Goyer downplayed his original story of having the vampires take over the world and enslave humanity while Blade has been missing for the past few years, Goyer mentioned it was too similair to I Am Legend which is being developed right now by Francis Lawerence (dont remember his name he directed Constantine), which to me is an excuse to make good with Warner Bros. to have him on board with Nolan on Batman Begins.

The tv show will get cancelled after a season if it does air because nobody really cares about Blade, look at what happend to Spawn on HBO, biggest comic book character since Spiderman and hes unable to pull a show on HBO. The Blade character to me was destroyed when they started production on Blade Trinity, I blame Goyer and his shotty screenplay( I hope to God he never helms a Batman film), his lack of experience , I blame Wesley for being a prick and I blame anyone hear contemplating the idea of supporting anything Blade related after such an awful showing of Blade Trinity.

On Spike TV, they'll have a commercial of Blade's new show tonight while the VGA are on. This is something every Blade fan should be crazy about...if you really want to see more of Blade.

Discuss the arrival of the Blade tv series. :D

Anyone check out the commercial? I did. It was pretty quick but looked cool.

All I remember is...A face coming out of blood. Some female character standing there looking worried. And a guy with some cool glasses so I'm guessing that was Blade. He looked cool. I think he was on top of a roof.

I'm hoping we'll see more, online and on tv. :D

Anyone know if there's an online page that shows the commercial?

The guy looks cool as Blade. He doesn't have that Snipes look, I think he can make the character better than what Snipes did. I'm still wondering on how they'll show the vampire characters. From the movie, they had a really good budget and this might be a lower budgeted thing that will have the blood-suckers only holding two fangs and some long nails.

It says that the Blade TV series would have a budget of $2 million an episode.

2 million dollars per episode!!

Geez, The Tick only last 8, and that was still too expensive. So, do ya think it'll last?

I think it'll have one season. But how much $$$ does it cost Smallville for an episode? I would expect it to be more that 2 million.

2 million dollars per episode!!

They should have put some of that money towards hiring an actor to play Blade. Stinky Fingers just plain sucks in the roll... and not in a cool vampire way

Yeah I finally caught an episode and he (and the show as a whole) really didn't impress me, I'll watch it a couple more times though and not judge it just by the one.

Well, I'll say this...
but I like it.

Seriously. I mean Kirk Jones might not win any awards, but I like how he does Blade. He seems more visceral than how Snipes did him.

Normally, I don't go for shows like Blade's. Part of an ongoing storyline. Usually, I like shows with stories that go for one episode (like sitcoms, or to an extent, CSI:, and not ones like Lost or 24), but with Blade, I can follow the story easier, and I can't wait for the next week's episode.
