View Full Version : HULK 2 VILLAIN.
Who should be the villain for the hulk 2?
I really dont care for the villian...I mostly only care if the film will be realistic with the hulk look and story...But I never was a hulk fan anyway so I dont know any villains.

--I was always more of a fan of the Hulk when he was the villain, for lack of a better term.
The first movie captured that to a point, but then they brought in the bastardised version of Absorbing Man.
The Hulk is a monster, the army is after him. The way to make the story more interesting is to have an engaging human element. If you really need a "villain," throw someone like Abomination or an updated version of Leader in there for Hulk to throw punches with along the way, but ultimately I think Hulk should be the primal beast that has everyone scared to death. Everything else is peripheral.

I recently saw an ad for a War Hulk w/ Gremlin. I think idea might be interesting. Have the Army hire Bruce's friend, who was caught in the gamma radiated room in the first flick, but he's now hideously deformed. And in order to capture Hulk, he makes his own version of him and goes off to hunt him down in a new Hulk-like exoskeleton. That might be totally wrong to the Gremlin's character, but, I think it sounds good. How about anybody else?

they will probably have The Leader create Abomination in a test experiment, Leader will take over Betty's lab while Abomination gives General Ross a headache and Hulk/Bruce will be the only person(s) to stop them.

Not really a huge choice you gave. We know now it will be Abomination.... but maybe youcould have added Carl "crusher" Creel/the Absorbing Man, Dr. Calvin Zabo/Mister Hyde, Dr. Geoffrey Crawford/Ravage, or our man Rhino or Wendigo.... hell why not The U-Foes. I guess the Leader and Abomination was the obvious, but I would think a poll would at least have maybe 3 or 4 choices.
Anyway, I just hope this movie is worth seeing, because after Ang Lee's Version, I'm weary about seeing another Hulk film.

OLDY!
Yeah, I kinda like the way that you put this, so I don't think they should even really be looking into the old comics to try to pull out a villain to bring in. But if I really had to....... I would rather it be somebody like The Rhino or Wendigo (as somebody else here pointed out). Physically speaking, it would be a much better match up in terms of a battle (CGI-wise, we could see some really great battle sequences between Rhino, for instance, and Hulk). But if there's a better way to bring in the military again, I'd go for that instead.

Let do both, Leader Abombination, and then Hulk can join up with General Ross

You're obviously talking about Mecha Hulk, which has been done already as an action figure:

As for the villain in Hulk 2, I say go with BOTH the Leader and Abomination. One for the muscle to fight the Hulk (we need that) and one for the brains for some devious plotting.

Wow that looks so much like the terminater to me... And I like alot of robot versions of characters so this is an interesting idea to me. But still there is some doubt on it becoming movie material.

DUBYA SEEEE!!
Your idea sort of makes me think of how they did the "Master Blaster" (do you remember them?) From "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome." The little guy on top, and the big guy on the bottom giving him the piggy back ride ..........and providing Master Blaster with the muscle for his brains. An interesting take.......could probably work out in the next "Hulk" feature.

Well, it sounds pretty official that Abomination will be duking it out with Hulk in the sequel, based on recent reports from Comic-con. But Ross will be returning as well to hunt down Hulk. Sounds OK so far.

Which means that you've got BOTH the military involved plus a villain for the Hulk from the comics on top of that. Doesn't sound bad. I just hope that they can get Sam Elliot back again as Ross. Even if they can't get Eric Bana back, the least they can try to do is bring back Elliot.

I think its a great decision to bring in The Abomination. This will give us some much-needed muscle vs. muscle action, showcasing the full power of the Hulk. If done correctly, this could almost make up for the first one.

If I absolutely HAD to choose, I would pick The Abomination, but I've always thought the army was the best villain for the Green Goliath. The army seems a lot more plausible and you don’t need a tiresome origin story to introduce it. I guess you could argue that the army was used in the first movie, but it wasn’t really utilized in its full potential, just like the Hulk himself (which is why they are making a sequel in the first place). Plus, having two big CGI characters battle each other just brings back sour memories of the Hulk-Dogs… *shiver*.

I don't think they've really figured it out as yet, comicguru. I think, given the way that films of this kind (C2F's), are being done nowadays, I would think that it's going to be a combination of CGI & stop-motion capture, where an actor wear's a suit connected to a series of computer monitors and captures the actors movements, and then they are put into a computer, where animators then fill in the animated character that they want ( think Gollum in Lord of the Rings). That seem's to be the new thing to do now.......what they are going to do with The Silver Surfer in the soon to be shot Fantastic 4 sequel.
Tim Roth has been cast as Emil Blonsky aka The Abomination. What do you think of the casting?
I hope Abomination looks as good as his Marvel Legends counterpart. He better not be a watered down version of the classic character or radically changed. I would hope he could speak though, as should the Hulk. I don't want two speechless and mindless brutes just going at each other without any actual dialogue from either of them.

Roth's another great actor to be snared for a Marvel-themed movie. I've been reading, however, that Zac Penn, who is "penning" the script for this one, has stated (and I've read the quote), that they are NOT going to actually be referring to the character AS THE ABOMINATION. The reason? "Because it's just a silly name ........The ABOMINATION!" From what I took from the comment, there was just a tad amount of sarcasm & disdain for the character's name. So, apparantly, they are going to be using the character, but in the film, they won't actually be calling him "The Abomination." Penn just feels, I suppose, that it won't translate as well from the comic to a live action film as well as "The Hulk" translates.

Meh, I can live with them not actually calling the creature THE ABOMINATION, unless that's how he directly refers to himself of course. Actually, I was thinking about that in the first film. Was Banner ever referred to as THE HULK in that movie? If so, where did the name come from? Did someone just point at this big green monster and say "Check out The Hulk" and the name stuck? Now everyone in the world was calling him The Hulk?
I can understand in the comics, because the character referred to himself as The Hulk. "Hulk Smash, Hulk the strongest one there is!" and on and on. But in the movie the creature had what, one line of dialogue? How exactly did he get his name?
Granted, I'm going by memory here, but I don't recall Banner giving himself that name in the movie. If Abomination is also mute in the film (though he really shouldn't be as I believe Emil retains his intelligence when he changes), I don't think it matters that much if he's not actually referred to as such.

I think Banner referred to himself as the Hulk. Not as "call me the Hulk". But more like "a hulk".
I know the military called him "Angry Man".

I believe EDIW is correct on this........and I wouldn't think it too big a deal to NOT call The Abomination.......The Abomination. I think, however, that it will somehow get fit in to the film, somehow. Like maybe Banner calling Emil Blonsky an ABOMINATION .........or maybe a newspaper heading that proclaims "An Abomination brings City to standstill........" you know, something along THOSE corny lines!
