We all know that Hollywood is in love with comic books, sequels, and remakes right now.
we also know that there have been a few attempts as ressurecting old television shows as new one with little success (Outer Limits and Battlestar Galactica are the only ones I know about). Still, though, if you could have any televsion series be remade for television today, what would it be and how would you do it? Only one rule: It can't be anything on televsion right now.
Personally, I would do The Greatest American Hero. I'd have it be on Sci-Fi and I would keep the comedic bits as, for me, that's what really made that show stand out. I would keep the continuity of the series though and have the powers fall in the lap of a new hero (a la` Green Lantern) and have William Katt return as a mentor to the new guy. Kind of like Batman Beyond, but not as dark.

Easy one. I'd bring back "Lost in Space" as a serious, big-budget, top writers, show.

With you there, dude. Also, I'd do one of Blake's 7, if not a continuation.

Wasn't John Woo supposed to be producing and directing a pilot for a new Lost in SPace series a couple of years ago?

Jason King- This is a UK show from the early 70s about a somewhat lecherous crime novelist who got involved with criminal cases. An influence on Austin Powers, King wore gaudy 70s gear that might of seen stylish at the time but look embarassing now. he had a wild hairdo and a sort of macho, mexican moustache and was constantly chasing women. The star was Peter Wyngarde who played King somewhat in the style of Peter O'Toole. Incredibly camp and would be perfect for Rupert Everett.
Wanted- Dead or Alive- Supernatural's Jensen Ackles steps in for Steve McQueen, but even McQ was just starting out in this old tv western as the young bounty hunter.
I Spy- This would be a good remake with John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. that show was all about the chemistry between Robert Culp and Bill Cosby..at least this beats Murphy and Wilson.
The Persuaders- Another one from the 70s. This one had Roger Moore as an english playboy aristocrat and Tony Curtis as a flash, self-made millionaire who teamed up to chase girls and solve crimes. It was a fun show and this could be remade with Vin Diesel and Jude Law.
Land of the Giants- this would make a great summer blockbuster for the family.
For Intelligent-Design and tstone...The Prisoner- written and directed by David Lynch. Mainstream but still Lynchian. And it needs someone like Bruce Willis or a Harrison Ford type. The original was greatly assisted by the fact that McGoohan had come off of a show called Danger Man (Secret Agent in the US) and Prisoner was like a surreal coda to that show.
