From Kristen at E!

"Turns out that supercool black-light reveal is a major plot point that carries on through the rest of the season. "Oh yeah, big time," Damon said. "I mean, it plays huge in the finale, and even in episodes 21 through 24. Twenty-one is an episode that is very much on the sort of fundamental axis of that map, and it's a Locke and Eko story, which is going to be awesome. [Executive Producer] Carlton [Cuse] and I wrote it. That episode is just called '?' because that is the symbol Locke remembers from the map."

ABC:

Mr. Eko enlists Locke to help find a secret location he believes houses answers to the island's mysteries. Meanwhile, Jack and the other survivors struggle to cope with the horrific situation in the hatch.

From Ausiello at TV Guide (http://www.tvguide.com/News/Ausiello/AskAusiello/?NRMODE=Published&NRNODEGUID=%7b0B196054-9530-4169-8F64-B338375105BC%7d&NRORIGINALURL=%2fnews%2faskausiello%2f&NRCACHEHINT=Guest)

Ausiello: Will the episode titled "?" explain what the... I think you know where I'm going with this....
Carlton: It would be a fair inference to say the question-mark episode is about finding out what that question mark on that map means.
Damon: That episode is a great opportunity for us to finally put Locke and Mr. Eko together, sort of a philosophical battle of faith and will that we've been hinting at all season long. [It started] back when Eko gave Locke that film that he brought across in that hollowed-out Bible, [and] this is sort of the next step in their relationship. Just as a side note, the "?" episode was originally going to be the episode that Darren Aronofsky would direct prior to Rachel Weisz's pregnancy. We thought it would be a cool shout-out to him since he made the movie Pi, which was just the symbol for pi.
Carlton: It ended up being directed by a guy named Deran Sarafian. It was hard to find another Darren to direct the episode, but we managed.

Claire's psychic admits he is a fraud.... then how did he know to put her on that plane?

I really like seeing Eko and Locke work together. I'm not the least bit surprised to see that they are under surveillance. The orientation video doesn't say that pushing the button doesn't serve some purpose (beyond a psychological test) so it is possible that there is a concrete reason for pushing the button and entering the numbers. Poor Locke though, I can tell that he feels that he has been a complete fool for pushing the button.

Eko is correct, the work in the hatch isn't meaningless, but it seems to me that it's human manipulation, not fate, that's making things happen.

The look on Libby's face when she died was seriously freaky.

I'm furious that they killed her, but I liked the moment between Kate and Sawyer after she died.

Here's the link to Ausiello's interview with the producers about Libby's death: http://community.tvguide.com/forum.jspa?forumID=700000049

They say they didn't have a story to tell for Libby - why bring a character on the show if you don't have a story to tell for them? What's the point of it? If the writers couldn't think of anything to do with Libby's character then they are seriously inept because I could think of at least 10 storylines for her. It's a bullshit answer and it makes me not want to invest in this show next season.

DON'T want to watch next season, just wait something HUGE is going to happen and you'll forget all about Libby's back ground. Every show needs a few filler characters to plug up the gaps. The last episode made my jaw drop when I saw the Question mark. I can't wait for the next

Message to Eko. Thats not salt thats "dharma weed begone". I knew that hatch was a Skinner box. I could have sworn in the pearl hatch one of the TVs had a dim picture on it. I guess EKo will be hitting the button instead of building the church? Great plot device having the orientation movies on two different video formats .If you don't have a film projector on your hatch you can't watch the swan one and if you don't have the VCR you can't watch the Pearl one.

I also liked the look on Kate and Sawyer's faces when Hurley asked if they'd seen Libby. I liked that their telling him was filmed silently from a distance. That way the focuse was on how they were standing and made that moment very powerful.

Anyone ever wonder about the names for the hatches found so far?

Swan--swansong, ugly duckling
Pearl--of great price

According to the number of screens... 3(?) are there 2 more to be found? Or just one since there was a camera on the Pearl hatch occupants... but would they report on their activity?

Where do the tubes lead?

Lots to think about.

I like that they're bringing the story back to the Dharma initiative, and I'm glad they didn't decide to stick this at the end of this season and create another "what's in the hatch" cliffhanger. Too bad about killing off Libby, but I'll be intrigued to see how they can explain her backstory without it being a Libby flashback. I guess she must've interacted with someone besides Eko while she was in Australia ... but who? Was she following Hurley or was she there for another reason?

I like being left with new questions. It keeps me thinking.

I think we will learn more about Libby via Hurley flashbacks.

Fair Warning, my memory is unto a sieve but will do my best.

Episode opens with a dream sequence by Eko in which Ana Lucia and his brother Yemi appear and tell him he has to ask Locke about the question mark. Ana is at first normal but later starts bleeding.

Coming back from Sawyer's hut Sawyer, Jack, Locke and Kate encounter first Eko then Michael who tells them that the faux Henry Gale escaped and shot Ana Lucia and Libby. They go in and find Ana dead. At first it appears that Libby is dead but then she coughs up blood. After some argument Eko says he'll go after him and persuades Locke to join him.

After a while and failing to find any tracks Locke is going to turn back. Eko asks him about the question mark and headbutts him into unconciousness when he's uncooperative.

In flashbacks it is shown that Eko was already living in Australia as a priest. He is assigned by his monsignor to investigate a claim of a miracle, specifically that a 16 year old girl, Charlotte Malkin (who turns out to be the daughter of Richard Malkin, the psychic who got Claire onto Flight 815) returned from the dead after drowning. Going to the Malkin house Eko is prevented from entering by Richard who tells him that he (Richard) is a fraudulent psychic and that his wife is a religious zealot doing this to spite him. He explains it as his daughter entering a hydrothermic coma. Eko, who was reluctant to do this mission in the first place (He was planning a trip to America under a false passport) says he will report it as a non-miracle.
Back to the hatch. Jack says there's nothing he can do for Libby except to make her comfortable. He pressures Sawyer into taking Kate to his stash for the ###### (which is also where he keeps the guns). Turns out he's been hiding them underneath his hut all the time. As he and Kate are taking out a statue Hurley comes up and asks them if they've seen Libby. Very well done and moving scene follows. They take him to the hatch.

Locke and Eko continue to follow Locke's crude map and wind up at the drug smuggler plane. They camp for the night and Locke has a dream in which he is Eko (but still limps) and climbs the cliff next to where the plane is, to be greeted by Yemi. He wakes up, Eko interrogates him about the dream and then climbs the cliff. When he looks down he sees that the plane is at the center of a big circle. They move the plane and after digging find a hatch entrance. This turns out to be the entrance to a station called the Pearl. There are nine TV monitors, one of which shows the inside of the Swan. There's also a camera inside the Pearl, indicating that someone is or has been watching it. Also a pneumatic tube in which Locke disposes of his map. They find a video tape and play it. It's an Orientation tape, hosted by Dr. Marvin Candle only this time he's calling himself Dr. Mark Wickman. The Pearl is an observation post for monitoring a psychological experiment, apparently the whole Swan setup. Also a ferry (the Pala ferry) and barracks are mentioned.Locke is ready to give up pushing the button but Eko says that even if he does he will continue to do so, having been convinced by the dreams and whole huge coincidence of where the plane crashed (not to mention it being on the island to begin with) that there's more to this than just an experiment.

Back at the hatch Hurley pors his heart out to the unconcious Libby. She recovers just long enough to say "Micheal" and then dies. Hurley cries, so does Kate, who is consoled by Sawyer. Last scene is of Michael standing alone (in the gun vault I think).
