Because I am bored
And I missed the poetry
I bring you HAIKU!
Syllable count is
the key: the form's five, seven,
and five in three lines.
Nothing else is right!
All comments and corrections
Must be in haiku
To remind you of
The old board's haiku thread, (http://64.34.170.134/Cinescape/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB142&Number=223412&page=&view=&sb=&o=&fpart=1&vc=1) I
present my best one:
My poor kitty cats
Traumatized by contractors
Tromping through our house
When the doorbell rings
They hide under the beds and
Don't come out 'til night.
They hide a long time
Sometimes until very late
That can be trouble
Last night around ten
I asked, "Have you seen Calli?"
She'd been gone all day
In the new bathroom
I called her name so softly
I heard a sad mew
From behind the wall
Behind the newly placed tub
She was trapped, poor thing
Luckily for her
An access in my son's room
Gave her back freedom
Please, contractors, watch
For my scared, skinny kitty
When you're drywalling
I will have some words
With their supervisor, for
I'm a bit upset.

Cinescape posters
being an unruly bunch
posting silly posts.
And yet most are smart
enough to provide us with
good entertainment.
Let us hope that all
will attempt to do gladly
and not suck bad eggs!

Nice try, King Voyeur:
Line 8 needs seven. Always
count before posting!

I can't write haiku
The syllables don't line up
And I can't ever think of a clever way to end it.

You must become a
part of the haiku writing
by feeling your words

Jakester becomes one
with many of his haikus
by feeling them up.
Do not try to joust
I'm the self-proclaimed king here
I own Haiku Land

King? What good is that?
I'm the GODDESS of haiku
I MADE haiku land!
I have the rhythm
I have the haiku paddle
I have the boobies!
Girl geeks are the best
You should all worship me, so
Unattainable.
I reign here supreme--
But I will share my playground:
Write me more haiku!

Beware of Jakester
when you mention your boobies
for he will grab them.

However, I do like beer
Just saying, that's all

This is a shared throne, you know
My domain, haiku

Some witty haikus
about boobs and beer. So where
are the Hooters girls?
Omicron would know.
At least, I think he would know.
Just sayin', that's all.
Neglet? A goddess?
Ha! Her haikus have the grace
of a pig in mud.
Her rhythm is off.
Her paddle is full of holes...
I will stop right there.
:smirk:
When you strike Neglet
I suggest you run away
Or else feel her wrath

I'm not the one with four kids.
Watch your own rhythm. :smirks:

We truly missed you O Queen.
We need more Sweetpeas!
Why are digital
cameras so hard to come
by for myspace pics?
Cellphone pics are cool.
But where is the quality?
Photo lessons please.
And oh by the way.
Neglet? My rhythm is fine.
But my haikus ROCK!

I miss y'all too, dude.
Just posted an update here.
Wish I could each day.
haiku is ancient
goes back to yon CA days,
Chinese like it, too.
China or Japan?
Can't remember who started
haiku for us all.
neglet, forgive me,
haiku punctuation hard.
Put away red pen!
neglet

I'm not that picky
About punctuation in
poems like haiku
Neither was e e
cummings, and he did okay
no red pens needed
It's all about the
rhythm, the sound, the pulse of
our seventeen beats

Yikes! Natalie asked
me to friend her. Suggestive?
Is Jakester jealous?
Please don't get me wrong.
She cannot help talking in
Double entendres.
After talks with her
on her cell, she can't help it.
Like Turrett's syndrome.
She's hilarious.
So it doesn't bother me.
No offense taken. :hugs:
But she needs to write
what she says down in her blog.
Her friends count will rise.

I'm calm in my art
I summon my inner strength
My words then go forth
Returning quite soon
Can you dig it? Geek haiku
All geek, all the time
The new BSG
Pissed off hung up geeks don't like
Rolling Stone does, though
Tstone, I must ask
Why keep beating a dead horse?
Spiderr is gone, dude :D
By the way soldier,
When do you come back state-side?
Is the tour up yet?

Spring said the news man
Is finally on its way.
Warm weather, my ass!

A lost sheep to Cinescape.
Cheese covered no more.
With the arrival
Of the boys of summer ball,
Winter's blahs are done.

Because it is fun
Geek oriented haiku
With obsessed fanboys
My tour is three years
Hit the one year mark April
I have two years left
Then I must decide
Just what the next step will be
Consider options
Will I stay Army
Become Navy Officer
Public Affairs Branch
Or a civilian
That one is the most remote
Not quite the time yet
Tstone, I must ask
Why keep beating a dead horse?
Spiderr is gone, dude :D
By the way soldier,
When do you come back state-side?
Is the tour up yet?

With the arrival
Of the boys of summer ball,
Winter's blahs are done.
Harbingers of spring
Batter up! Let's play ball! Will
Tigs hit five hundred?
It doesn't matter
I'll be at Opening Day
Watching all the fun.

tried to sell me his vacuum.
Dust remains unsucked.
A co-worker gave me
margarine she did not need.
Now I need muffins.
A cute squirrel tried
to cross the road while I drove.
Now I must wash car.
Pretty Spring flowers
bloom so sweetly this season.
Now my car is green.
I saw the dentist.
He saw my teeth. He now drives
a brand new Lexus.

Iambic pentameter!
How exciting! Yay!
Let us all talk in
iambic pentameter.
Verse in prose be damned!
Or how about we
write sonnets to each other?
Neat-O! That would rule!
Sarcasm flows free
through my haikus like melted
butter on popcorn.

Hope work remains light.
I asked baby Nate

Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. Why was he up
there? We'll never know.
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. Would he make a
sound if no one's there?
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. I am in shock.
Who knew he could climb?
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. Apparently,
seeking a new high.
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. He bumps his head.
Now he gathers moss.
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. The world tilts.
Mick paints a door black.
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. Just how many
branches did he hit?
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. Mick dies laughing.
Hark! The end is nigh!
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree. Gas prices sink.
There's much rejoicing.
Keith Richards falls out
of a tree, and felt nothing.
Score one for cocaine.
