I'm new here so I'm sorry if this has been done a thousand times but here goes.

I think the black cloud is a cloud of nanites. You know, microscopic machines.

That was something that wasn't really discussed often here (at least I don't think so) but I've followed the discussions on it elsewhere. I found this theory really interesting, however, JJ (or possibly another one of the producers) said that this isn't the case.

That being said, Damon Lindelof promised everyone he wouldn't kill Shannon. We can't 100% believe anything they tell us.

Well, the island being what it is there's no reason she couldn't rise from the dead either. Why did she leave? Did she have another show or lots of movie offers or what? :dunno:
