I haven't followed this much. The guy is a scum, put him in prison and let him get assraped for life or kill him, I don't care.

But why was Giuliani on the stand? Isn't a trial supposed to present evidence on the defendant's guilt or innocence? Couldn't any NYer testify how awful it was, or any person who saw the planes hit on TV? Having Giuliani testify just seems more emotional and less factual than anything else.

my 2 cents.

Wasn't he the first elected official on the scene?

Actually, the trial part is over. He's already been found responsible for the death of at least one person. Giuliani is up there to talk about his experiences on 9/11, much like a homicide victim's family will talk about how much their loved one meant to them, and what they have gone through, in order to justify or rule out a death sentence. Read some of the statements here (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/M/MOUSSAOUI?SITE=ORSAL&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT).

Moussaoui is trying to be a martyr. I am not against the death penalty, but I think killing him would be a mistake. The prosecution's case was looking bad until Mous. started spouting hate to anyone who would listen. He wants the US to put him to death. He wants the world to see the US put a Muslim on trial, convict him on circumstantial evidence, and kill him for his beliefs. I say let him rot in prison. Here's (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/29/AR2006032901487.html) a little bit about the trial itself.

Actually, the trial never happened. He plead guilty. The first phase was to determine eligibility for the death penalty.

Normally, I would want someone guilty of something so heinous put to death but I think you've got a great point. Giving him the death penalty just plays into his hand.

You can't put that dude in GP, most likely he would be more than ok. The prison are filled to brim with people that hate the US government and the muslims there would protect him anyways. I say Fry the fuk
