There are any number of films that flew under the radar when they were released, some are eventually discovered by larger audiences, but some are not, or at least have yet to be.

"The Game," with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn fits, to me, the description of a truly great film that hasn't received the props I feel it deserves. I just got through watching it for the 3rd time, and I got more out of it than I had previously, and this is despite knowing the ending. If you haven't seen this movie, see it. There is a lot more going on under the surface in "The Game" than what I think most people who've seen it might believe.

I like the movie, but I think it's got too many holes in the story to be truly great.

I like the movie, but I think it's got too many holes in the story to be truly great.

I think what I like most about this movie is the idea that it is important to face yourself and accept the truth about yourself, without shame, fear, or remorse. I felt the film was reaching out to us with a message about how an honest appraisal of yourself can truly free you from those things that hold you down or back. I found the ending to be not only inspiring, but beautiful to behold.

Too many movies today are either about shock value, or mindless entertainment without really taking an honest look at the human condition. I believe "The Game" is that rare movie that is both entertaining and enlightening.

You're Right Asonokirk. . .

It is a very good picture that certainly slipped under the radar ( as they say ) back in '97'.

A film that I very much enjoy and i'm happy to have in my collection. . . .
