Now that was a fun episode, I love the look and feel of the Dalek and the Doctor's Reaction to it.
What did you guys think?

I think that was a rather well written episode. I am a bit surprised as it is better than the average Doctor Who writing! Is the REST of the season going to get better still? I heard that they are saying that the series keeps getting better after the first few, anyway.

I didn't really like this episode--at least, not the touchy-feely Dalek resolution to it. It just seemed too politically correct. ("Oh, we can't have a truly evil character, let's make the Dalek lonely!") I did like that the Dalek looked and sounded the same as the original, however.

I am the last person to go for the PC idea but I disagree with you.
I felt, since the Daleks are all dead, this one storyline about one Dalek was a good twist on the normal "Daleks hate everything" storyline. There was no change to the Dalek ideal, just this ONE Dalek.

I loved this episode. They managed to make a Dalek semi-sympathetic without going mushy. Should be remembered that in the end it suicides because it feels it's become a corruption of the Dalek "ideal". AT\t least that's how I saw it.

I remember that Daleks were given a more sympathetic "face" during Tom Baker's turn as the Doctor, so this new episode didn't undermine anything about Dalek's we didn't already know. I LOVED this episode, as it had a lot to say and did so in a truly touching and poignant manner.
