1. My Name Is Earl (the funniest show on TV just about ever... finally, my type of humor has made it mainstream)
2. Family Guy
3. South Park
4. SportsCenter (when I'm at the gym on a treadmill)

There's no reason to fill out a top 10. Nothing else is worthy of being on it.

Although, I will say SNL had their best fake commercial in quite some time this last weekend. I was watching the show for Pearl Jam (such a pity that I fell asleep before they got to perform World Wide Suicide) but couldn't stop laughing at the Coin Slot lotion commercial. It had the absurdity of Gravy Clear, Happy Fun Ball, Adobe Car, Nerf Crotch Bat or Big Red to it.

Adam54
05-04-2006, 08:11 PM
Well, technically, I haven't been watching the new episodes.
But yes, since we're counting currently airing shows on this one (at least I think? I'd have a slightly different list otherwise) you are right, Gilmore Girls should probably slot in right above Nip/Tuck, but below the Shield, and bump South Park from my top 10.

Queen Mae
05-04-2006, 08:14 PM
It's a better show than Grey's Anatomy.

Not that I'm biased about GG or anything.

I am so with you, Queenie. GG has been a huge favorite on my house since the beginning. Of course, I'm a single mom with a teenage daughter, so.....

kah
05-05-2006, 06:36 AM
I could never get past the daughter drinking coffee, and the mom passing on Luke. I know that was way back when, but I just couldn't watch it more than a few times.

Queen Mae
05-05-2006, 12:54 PM
Yeah, her passing on Luke never made any sense to me either.... although it makes more sense after you've watched the seasons 50 times each.... not that I've ever done that or anything...... only weirdos do stuff like that.....

kah

All I have to say is Luke=hot!

Oh, and who would ever think you were a weirdo?:dunno:

The Shield has come storming back to the top of my favorite shows. I watched the first three seasons without ever missing an episode, and then never got a chance to see seasons 4 & 5. I just watched season 4 over the past few days, and all have to say is HOLY CRAP! It was probably my favorite season yet. Anthony Anderson is a great actor, I never knew it til now. Is season 5 out yet? There is nothing more satisfying (well almost) than a full season of your favorite show on DVD and an event-free weekend!

I've been travelling too much to stay up on the only show I paid any attention to last year but that's all going to change once Christmas rolls around and I get my Tivo box. Then I'll know what the hell is going on with my favorite show I never get to see: My Name Is Earl.

House is the only show I've watched with any regularity this year. I've seen a bit of Prison Break and Heroes. Prison Break moves along at a good pace while Heroes is a little scattershot with decent potential.

After going back through this thread, I can't believe that 'The Wire' hasn't been mentioned. I just finished watching season four, and there's nothing else on TV that come close to this in terms of writing or acting. I guess 'The Shield' is the closest, but even that doesn't have the complexity of this show.

Simply can't wait to see what the creators have in store for season five.

I don't have premium cable, so I don't get shows like "The Wire" and "The Sopranos."

After hearing people rave about it, though, I think I'll check out the first season from my local library---they've got a fantastic selection. First, I have to finish getting through "Buffy," though.

Lately I've been into Heroes and House. Earl is still on my list of Best Shows but I haven't been able to watch it consistently and it really must be watched sequentially. I guess I'll wait for the S2 DVD before next season and just spend a weekend watching it.

South Park, Mind of Mencia, CSI: and others still get the semi-regular viewing. Especially now that I have TiVo. It's nice that I can watch assloads of TV without having to sit down and pre-scheduled times. Oh, and since I'm never home on Wednesday nights, I can now see programming from that night. Due to travel for work and other reasons, I only got to see about 3 episodes of Heroes first-run. Now I've got it recording Heroes on Sci-Fi any time it comes up. I caught the marathon last night. God, I love TiVo. Okay. I'll stop rambling now.
