you've got to be kidding....good movie, but a musical version?

I'm not sure it's going to be a version of the movie, but rather a musical adaptation of the book. They were fairly similar, except for the switch from British to American, and a few other small plot points. I'm interested to see what they do with it...with so many references to pop music throughout the story, HOW will they do the music?

Of course, Broadway has been moving towards making a lot of musicals out of movies recently. The Producers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Spamalot, just to name a few. I think there was even a rumor that Fight Club was going to turn into a musical, with Trent Reznor doing the music, but I don't think that idea took off. Pity. "We are the all singing, all dancing crap of the world" would have translated really well.
