Hope for Rattner?

So alot of people thought X3 was doomed when Bret Rattner took over, but after all the story rumors and casting and teaser trailer, do you have more hope that X3 will be just as good as 1 and 2 if not better? I do have more hope, but I'm still worried that Rattner is going to make it too much of an action film and not focus much on the characters.

:( :cry: I agree with you Jaker that X3 is not going to be as good as the previous films. Sure the trailer looks good and there's plenty of action but the plot from the rumor mill has too many characters and too many elements weaved into one. What made the the previous films work was that it had a woven plot that included the characters in it. Sure this is gonna be another 100 million dollar blockbuster for the summer but truth be told, I think this movie really is gonna be a mess from the stories being printed out about this film. Look at T3, if James Cameron finished the trilogy then it would be an entirely different story and not some dreck to finish out the sci-fi story. I'm not expecting much from this film but I'm hoping Bryan Singer will one day return to the reigns of directing the X-films.

It's going to be ok. I think it'll be better than SR, but not as good as the other X-men films. I'm definitly going to see X3, and I know it'll be an action packed film that will pretty much make movie-goers want to see more and more of those killings and fighting...Ahh, the cinema. 8)

I don't think this will be a bad film, just not a great one.

I thought Ratner did better with Red Dragon than anyone else did with a Hanabil film yet. So I think he can do much better than people are expecting. I don't think alot of people will see how well he did if he does great because of preconceived opinions on what they have seen and what they want to see.
