Yeah, I was pissed when they killed Ultimate Gwen off too! :lol: Great image, very nice work on the symbiote especially, it looks very alive. Nice lighting/texture there. Nice tendrils too. Mind you, the face (especially the hairstyle) is more 616 Gwen than Ultimate Gwen... she should be punkier.

Yeah, I realized that, but figured if I was gonna draw a reborn Gwen, especially since it's been so long, I was gonna draw her my way.

I think I actually prefer the design (and character) of Ultimate Gwen! To each their own, I guess. :D Like I said, great job here.

There's some major preferences there. The last issue of Ultimate Spider-Man I bought for aloooooooooooong time was #14, when Gwen is introduced. Didn't buy another issue until 49, and I sold all my backissues (#4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12) to boot. Ya gotta admit that when Gwen was first introduced, she was different then how she ended up, I mean she almost knifed someone for chrissakes. As she went on, she mellowed out a little, but never really became Gwendy because alot of her attributes had already been given to Mary. I'm worried that's gonna happen in the movie, too.

Then he'd dating Mary so he never dates Gwen, then Gwen dies, then Peter and MJ break up, then he starts dating Kitty Pryde? wtf?

Hmmm. Interesting... Personally, I found Ultimate Gwen more interesting precisely because she wasn't really the classic Gwendy. Her attitude and background IMO made for a cooler and in the end more sympathetic character. To me, the characters who are intended as &quot;perfect&quot; girlfriends (Gwendy, Ultimate MJ... they tend to be too sweet and not overly three-dimensional, though this is far less true of Ultimate MJ then it was of Gwen) tend to end up as less interesting than the more edgy characters like Ultimate Gwen and 616 MJ (who are usually given more intriguing backgrounds to boot).

Oddly, I think Ultimate Gwen was basically 616 MJ, whereas Ultimate MJ (and also movie MJ) is more 616 Gwen than she is the original 616 version of MJ.

Anyway... I basically found Ultimate Gwen to be a very interesting, sympathetic character, and I also liked the non-romantic friendship between her and Peter... I thought it made for a very cool dynamic, particularly after Gwen found out Peter was Spidey... then Bendis killed her off before it could go anywhere from there, damn his eyes. :lol:

So, uh... yeah. There's some major preferences here, indeed. :lol:

I don't ead ultimate spider-man... only ultimate x-men, but the look of this one is very good!
