X-Men Movie follow-ups
 

Part 1

The Xavier mansion. Logan (Wolverine), Ororo Munroe (Storm), Peter Rasputin (Colossus), Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat), Warren Worthington 3rd (Angel) and Bobby Drake (Iceman) are watching a news broadcast. The taped broadcast shows mutants causing chaos on a city street, with police trying to round them up. They are described as a splinter group of the "Brotherhood of Mutants". The news anchors talk about the mutant threat and mention the failed attempt of the "cure" which got rid of mutants powers but was not permanent.
"Hank is doing what he can at the United Nations to calm things down" Storm comments. "But tempers are flaring, people are seeing all mutants as a threat again."
"Any word from Rogue?" Logan asks.
"Not since her powers came back and she took off" replies Bobby.

Muir Island, Scotland. Moira Mctaggert walks in to a man who is revealed to be Charles Xavier, who transferred his mind to the body of a dying patient she was caring for. Charles says his former students would not be able to accept what happened and he should let them make a life for themselves. They talk about a similar program they want to start in the UK, taking in mutants where they could stay on to form the team "X-Calibur". A former student of Xaviers; Nightcrawler, has shown interest in leading it.

Back at the mansion Ororo and Logan are talking.
"I wish Charles was still with us, he'd know what to do" says Ororo. "I don't think I'm doing a good job with the school, morale is so low lately."
"Hey, you're doing the best you can." Logan replies. "And you've got me looking out for you. I aint having you give up on us yet." Ororo smiles at Logan, they lean in for a kiss when someone stumbles into the room. They turn and are shocked to see Scott Summers, who looks like he's had a fight.

A few minutes later, the X-Men gather around Scott, who tells them Jean couldn't bring herself to kill him. Her internal conflict was too much to bear, she flew away leaving a strange environment behind her. He woke in a lab. The person looking over him who brought him there reveals himself as "Sinister". Cyclops found out Sinister collect mutants' DNA and runs freakish experiments on it, like mixing it with humans and animals. He hoped to build some sort of army for the one he served, but the experiments were deemed failures and cast underground. Since then he's been searching for two perfect mutant DNA matches to create "the perfect mutant", which he believes he's now found in Cyclops and Phoenix. Cyclops tries to fight Sinister but is defeated so he escapes to recruit the other X-Men.

The X-Men suit up and take the Blackbird to the lab, but Sinister has vacated and taken most of the technology with him. A defense program starts running, robots (that look like smaller Sentinels) attack the X-Men who fight them and defeat them. Shadowcat looks through what's left of the computers and manages to see an extensive list of mutants around the world, including ones Sinister captured for testing. Scott notices a name, Alex Summers, and says it's his brother. It says he worked for Sinister. Shadowcat pulls up a file that shows Sinister had been ordered to kill the failed experiments but secretly kept them underground to study their survival. They have built a community for themselves, calling themselves the Morlocks, and appeared to resent "upworlders". Shadowcat copies the information to the Blackbird and phases through the computers destroying them.

Meanwhile we see Sinister again, who is watching the X-Men in his lab on a video feed.
He addresses someone else in the room "They cannot be led to the Morlocks. I don't want my work ending up selled to the highest bidder. And if the one i serve hears they are still alive I'm sure he will kill me for my deception." He gives the man a list. "I want you to find the mutants on this list, tell them I have a job for them. They should all accept if you mention my name. We need to make our own team, Malice and Scalphunter will be a part of it of course." The man is revealed to be Remy Lebeau (Gambit).
"What's the team for?" he asks.
"You don't need to know. Just remember all I have done for you can be undone. You will find these people with no more questions."
Gambit reluctantly sets off with Malice and Scalphunter. Malice exists as an incorporeal psychic being that possesses others, she is currently in the body of a mutant called Polaris. Scalphunter is capable of altering the configuration of any technological device, which he utilizes in his armour

Part 2

Bobby and Kitty are talking.
"So I was thinking now that Rogues gone, maybe we could start things up again?" Kitty asks. "I think there was something good between us."
"Kitty I've told you before. I love Rogue and I know she'll be back." Storm walks in.
"Guys, meeting in the War Room in ten minutes."

In the War Room under Xavier Mansion, Sinister's list is on display. Scott decides to go to find his brother at his last known location, Muir Island. He refuses to take anyone with him. Storm says he can use the jet and he leaves. Logan tells Storm he'll keep an eye on Scott, she protests but knows he won't change his mind, so just tells him to be careful. Logan leaves. She addresses the rest of the team,
"Kitty, try and find the location of the Morlocks. Then we'll go down there and offer them a home here."

At a meeting of government officials, there is a heated argument. They are saying the mutant problem is getting out of hand again, with this new version of the Brotherhood and other attacks. One says just last night there was some kind of fight in a building close to there, the X-Men are believed to be involved. They recovered some technology there of damaged robots that could help to hunt mutants. An agent called Boliver Trask is working on the technology to see what he can come up with to contain the mutant threat. They call it "Project Wideawake".

Scott has taken off in the jet. Logan sits down beside him. Scott is instantly angry.
"What are you doing here? I told you I need to do this on my own".
"I know, but you could be walking into a trap and I owe it to Jean to watch your back".
"Don't mention her name" replies Scott.
"Come on, she was gonna get mentioned eventually. You should know, there was no other way to stop her. She asked me to end it, it was the hardest thing i've ever had to do but there wasn't a choice. She was a brave woman and you should be proud of her."
"I am." (brief silence) "Thank you".
Logan buckles up.

That night, a man gets thrown through a window of a bar. Sabretooth leaps out after him threatening to kill him for insulting mutants. Before the killing strike however, a lit up card strikes him and knocks him back. Gambit steps from the shadows accompanied by Malice, Scalphunter and Riptide. Riptide can spin his body at superhuman speeds and fling out shurikens made from a resin his skin secretes. Gambit says he's got a job lined up for him.

Peter, Warren and Bobby are getting a drink in the local town. Warren is flirting with some girls and gets some numbers, then rejoins Peter and Bobby.
"I know you still think you're taken Bobby, but what about you Peter? How come I've never seen you with a girlfriend? Is there anyone lined up."
"I don't really want to talk about it" he replies.
"So there is someone. Come on we won't tell who is it? Kitty? Jubilee? Actually I've seen you getting along with Ororo quite well, maybe a little student/ teacher relations". Warren and bobby laugh.
"There are no women lined up" Peter says. "I guess I've kept it quiet long enough; I'm gay".
Warren and bobby look uncomfortable.
"Oh come on I'm still the same guy, i'm still your friend." No response. "You know with what we are and everything I would've expected you to be more tolerant with someone being different". He walks off.

The next day, Gambit and the mutants he's recruited stand before Sinister.
"You are the Marauders." Sinister tells them. "Mr Lebeau here has assembled you for a very delicate matter I'm sure you'll all be up to." Sinister gives Gambit a map of the Morlocks location and the job.
"You can't be serious, I'm not doing this" he exclaims.
"You will do as you're told boy. Come on, this will be one last job and your debt to me is paid. Or I will erase all the work I've done on you and you will die, consumed by your own powers."
"I'd rather die" Gambit replies. He attacks Sinister and the Marauders but there are too many, he is knocked unconscious by Sabretooth.
"Disappointing" remarks Sinister. "You will have to continue on without him. Malice will lead the team from now."

Kitty Pryde runs up to Ororo. "I've found them" she expresses joyfully.
"Suit up everyone" Ororo exclaims.

Storm, Iceman, Colossus, Shadowcat and Angel are exploring a sewer tunnel underground. Angel goes over to Colossus.
"Hey sorry about last night. It was just kind of a shock you know. Me and Bobby are cool with it, we all know that you can't help what you are." Colossus still looks annoyed.
"It's not like I'm attracted to every man I see! Are you attracted to every woman you see?"
"I know you're right, I'm sorry OK it was just unexpected."
"It's OK, besides, you're not my type" Colossus smiles.
"We're close team" Storm says. "Be ready for anything, apparently these guys aren't fond of people who live above ground." Just as she says that they are attacked by a few strange looking mutants and eventually captured.

Scott and Logan land on Muir Island and go to Mctaggerts school for the gifted. Scott asks for Alex Summers. They are greeted by Moira Mctaggert who tells them Alex left some time ago. She seems to be in a rush to get them out. Charles Xavier (in his new body) comes in,
"It's all right Moira."
"Who are you supposed to be?" Cyclops asks. He reveals himself as Charles Xavier and tells them what happened. "Alex hasn't left, I'll take you to him now." Scott goes into Alex's room, who is shocked to see him. They talk about old times and what theyve been up to since, Alex says hid codename is "Havok". There is an explosion somewhere in the complex. The Brotherhood have attacked, looking for more recruits. Cyclops, Wolverine, Havok and other mutants fight a team of them while Xavier confronts others. Magneto flies in.
"What are you doing Erik?" asks Charles.
"Charles is that you?" Magneto replies.

Underground, Storm is arguing with the Morlocks leader "Marrow" A mutant with uncontrollable bone growth, her bones petrude from her skin which she can snap off and use as weapons. Storm offers the Morlocks a home above ground, but Marrow doesn't trust her.
"Upworlders experimented on us and tossed us away when they were bored" she says. "You X-Men clearly harbor the pretty ones who can fit into society, there is no place for us."
"If you think we only take in pretty ones you should meet my friend Hank. We're not all as bad as you think, the man that did this to you was a sick twisted individual who doesn't represent the rest of us. We would keep you safe from people like that, and those that want to can fight them to stop others going through the same experiences you had". Marrow still looks unconvinced. Suddenly the Marauders burst into the cavern, Sabretooth brutally claws the mutants in his path. "What have you brought here X-Men?!"
"These aren't with us!" Storm shouts. The Morlocks and X-Men fight the Marauders, but clearly the Morlocks have no fighting experience apart from Marrow and are quickly getting slaughtered. Angel gets pinned against a wall by Scalphunter, who amputates his wings.

Back on Muir Isle, Magento and Xavier face each other.
"I knew you wouldn't stay dead for long old friend, you've always been too stubborn." remarks Magneto. "This new body seems to be working out for you, you can walk again at least." Wolverine, Cyclops and Havok burst in and are surprised by magnetos presence. Wolverine charges towards him to attack him, but Magneto stops him with his powers. "I'm sick of your animalistic approach to all this Wolverine, let's see how tough you are without your advantage." Wolverine looks at his claws, the metal peels off to reveal the bone claws underneath. He screams as the adamantium grafted to his skeleton is ripped from his body, and is left a quivering wreck on the floor as his healing factor tries to repair the damage.
"NO! This time you've gone too far Erik, I've had enough!" He charges at Magneto and manages to knock his helmet off. Magneto looks shocked, Charles points at Magneto's brain, whose eyes turn white. He collapses to the floor.
"Is he dead?" Cyclops asks.
"No. I couldn't do it. I've erased his memories. When he wakes up he'll remember nothing, much like Logan did years ago. Erik Lensherr will not be a threat to the world any longer."

Underground in Manhattan, the Morlocks are slain. Only Marrow is still alive, fighting with the X-Men. Just as Sabretooth is about to deliver the killing blow to Marrow, Gambit makes a sudden appearance and knocks him back with cards, saving Marrows life. He fights with the X-Men and helps defeat the Marauders.
"Thank you for your help, we thought the Morlocks had all been killed apart from marrow here" Storm says. Gambit looks at Marrow, who gives him a strange look, knowing he is not a Morlock, but doesn't say anything. Colossus picks up Angel who is still in great pain and carries him out of the cavern.
"I've lost everything" Marrow states.
"Come with us Sarah. You cannot stay here. You can live at our school." Storm looks at Gambit, "You can too of course, with that skill you would be a worthy addition to our team." They all leave together.

On Muir Island Cyclops and havok put Wolverine down in the jet. Havok says he'll come with Cyclops. Xavier walks in.
"It's time I come back, where I am meant to be. Moira can look after the students here." They take off in the jet.

Sinister is watching the X-Men leave the Morlock dwelling on screen. He looks very worried. He turns around when he realizes someone has just come in.
"You have disappointed me Essex" a booming voice states. Sinister immediately gets down on his knees. "You've barely been able to clean up you're own mess, and these X-Men could prove troublesome to my plans. You still have some use, you will help me get rid of these "X-Men"
Sinister humbly replies "Yes, Lord Apocalypse".

Here's part 1 of my next story, I'll post part 2 by the end of the week. Think of this as a spin off/ tie-in. Enjoy

X-Men: Tales of Apocalypse

Egypt, 3000 BC. A baby is born with grey skin, blue lips and natural facial markings. The mother is horrified and can't even bear to look her baby. Later that day the father walks through the desert, and leaves the child on the floor to die. The next day a tribe of desert nomads called the Sandstormers find the baby. The leader; Baal, is called over. He is initially stunned by the baby's appearance, but picks him up and the tribe take him with them.

Years later, the baby has grown into a young man named En Sabah Nur, and still lives with the tribe who found him. Baal adopted him as his own, the two have a strong father/ son bond. Nur is training with some other tribe members, with Baal shouting his advice. Nur is knocked down, so Baar goes to pick him up.
"You can do better then this son! You need to focus and remember all I have taught you. In this world only one thing matters: survival of the fittest."
"Sorry father" Nur replies. He gets up and faces the three tribe members again, swiftly disarming and defeating them.
"Much better" Baal remarks.

In the desert, not far from the Sandstormers settlement, a man seems to appear out of nowhere. He is middle-aged but in good physical condition, white haired and wearing clothes obviously not of this time. The mysterious man checks a device on his wrist and sets off toward the Sandstormers settlement.

Back at the settlement Nur and Baal are eating. Suddenly there are shouts from outside and the sound of people running around. Baal goes out followed by Nur, where they see General Ozymandius and a group of soldiers storming the settlement, with the tribe desperately trying to fight back. Baal and Nur pick up some weapons and take on the troop wit hthe rest of the tribe, but it is clear they are fighting a losing battle. Baal gets stabbed so Nur drags him out of sight.
"It is pharaoh Rama-Tut" Baal struggles to tell nur. "He sends his crazed army to get rid of any resistance, looks like we're todays choice."
"Don't worry, it's going to be OK."
"It's too late for me son, you have to get away from here. Survival of the fittest, I guess I wasn't strong enough."
"I'll avenge you father. I'll make Rama-Tut pay, everyone shall know the name En Sabah Nur as the fittest of all mankind."
Baal begins to protest, but dies in Nur's arms. Nur attacks Ozymandius, who is startled bt Nur's strange appearance as everyone else has been. The soldiers manage to knock him out however.
"We'll take this one back" says Ozymandius. "I'm sure he'll make a fine worker for pharaoh Rama-Tut." Nur is put on a horse and ridden away, along with a few other members of the tribe.

Later, the mysterious man arrives at the Sandstormers settlement. He is confused to see everyone dead and the settlement destroyed. He examines the floor to see hoove marks heading off into the desert, so he gets on a horse and follows the trail.

A few days later Nur is a slave in the palace of Rama-Tut. The other slaves are weary of him. A gaurd is mocking a slave and cutting him for working too slowly, Nur defends the slave and the gaurd eventually leaves. The other slaves thank Nur and are no longer as weary of him. One night he is working alone, cleaning the floors. A woman startles him as he turns around. She is obviously not a slave and doesn't seem to be worried by his appearance.
"I've seen you working" she says, "it's not like you're hard to miss. Here, take a break for a minute." She offers him some food, Nur eats it ravenously.
"Thank you. What's your name?"
"Nephri. My brother is the general of Rama-Tut's army."
"Ozymandius..." Nur mutters. "He's the one who brought me here and killed my tribe."
"I don't condone his actions but, if he does not do what he is ordered Rama-Tut would cut off his head and someone else would take his place. It's no excuse but with no-one to oppose Rama-Tut, this is the life we must lead."
"Maybe I will oppose him, and bring about a new regime."
Nephri laughs, "Maybe you will..." She leaves and Nur continues scrubbing the floor.

The next day, a gaurd calls Nur. He says the pharaoh wants to meet him. Nur follows the gaurd. Rama-Tut is sitting in a throne, General Ozymandius is standing next to him. Nur notices Nephri sitting in a corner of the room, they share a look and she smiles at him.
"So you're the one causing trouble" Rama-Tut states. Nur looks confused. "Some of my people, including slaves, think you may be some kind of 'chosen messiah', sent here by the Gods to overthrow me. If this is true you will have to be dealt with." Ozymandius steps forward with a weapon. "No no, that's not necessary. I knew your father you know, and you're as unwanted now as you was then. Leave this city and think yourself lucky I didn't kill you." Nur looks angry but knows he's outnumbered, so steps out. He says goodbye to the slaves, just as he is leaving the palace Nephri blocks his path.
"I don't know why Rama-Tut spared you, but now that he has you can forget this place and never look back. You're luckier then most."
"I have nowhere to go, and I have unfinished business here. I will avenge my father and my tribe, and this won't be the last time we meet." Nur leaves.

Later, just outside the city, Nur has made a small encampment for himself. He hears a noise and goes to investigate. The mysterious man attacks him. They fight, Nur gets the upper hand and stands over him, weapon in hand. "Who are you?" he shouts.
"I'm Cable, and you're dead meat bub."
