Sorry, I didn't mean to be snappish.
It's just that whenever you say that you're trying to lose weight, all of a sudden everyone gives you good advice (it's probably the same for people who try to quit smoking).
It usually didn't even bother me (nothing wrong with good advice!), but I have this really really annoying colleague - the kind of woman who will answer questions that you direct at other people, etc. I always thought that I am the greatest smartass on the planet, but she could outsmartass me in her sleep. A while ago, I mentioned to her that I will try to lose weight, so she asked me how I planned to do that, and when I explained my diet to her, she flat-out told me that it's not possible to lose weight like that. That's when I told her "Oh, ok. I lost 50 pounds like that before." and that was the first time ever that I managed to shut her up.
So now that has sort of become my standard answer.
