Holmes is such an archetypal character that I'm sure he will survive whatever Guy Ritchie does to him in this film. But Holmes as a martial arts action hero? The only that could be worse is a flat out comedy with Sacha Baron Cohen....

Damn, I still think Mark Strong would have made an impressive Holmes, as much as I like Robert Downey Jnr, he just doesn't look like Holmes at all!
