I wanted one for mexico since at one point and time tons of jobs were headed that way.

Wow! Mexican immigration is less stringent then I would have thought. I was considering buying property there at some point, I know that will be a hassle. I just hope US/Mexico relations don't get too strained.

From other sections I was reading, the cost of living there is similar to here. Some things are even more expensive. I was surprised to read that, since I was always told how cheap it was to live/retire there.

the middle class is extremely small there. You are either very rich or very poor.With little upward mobility.
