--Recent reports have indicated that now that Bryan Singer has been hired to direct Superman, he will no longer be involved with X-Men 3.
So, who do you want to see direct the film?

My first choices would be Robert Rodriguez or John Woo. Of course they usually are my first choices for anything.

Naa, i dont think Raimi would be able to handle a team so effectively.

Tarantino doing X-Men would be a fun project.

Oh, man, that would be priceless!! I can just imagine Cyclops and Jean Grey doing the Batusi to an old Chuck Berry song, and Wolverine carving up 88 bad guys in a Japanese bar. KICK ASS!!

Well i don't know who could direct, but I'm hoping a new director would use this opportunity to make some stylistic changes to the movies. I wouldn't mind seeing the X-Men wearing something closer to their comic book counter parts. If a Batman mask can be done without looking ridiculous, surely it can't be that difficult to have a Wolverine mask. And Magneto's costume should really be closer to what the Batsuit is like with inbuilt muscles. I wouldn't mind seeing more colour as well - doesn't have to be yellow spandex, but it could be something cool looking without being camp. If Spider-Man has proven that a costume can be faithful to the comic without looking camp then surely it can be done here. And remember, X-Men was pre-Spidey, so back then everyone believed that a comic costume couldn't be done realistically.

I would like to see what ALFONSO CUARON would do with X3.
I really enjoyed his darker vision in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabam. He proved deft at infusing an established franchise and characters with new life. I think his take on the Dark Phoenix saga would be impressive and inventive.
In his hands the love triangle, or better yet rectangle (Wolvie+Dark Phoenix/Jean+Scott), would sizzle like in "Y Tu Mama Tambien."
Plus he has proved extremely capable handing visual effects, and creating a balance between them and story.

A poll on some website lists Joss Whedon as the fan-pick for director of the next X-Men. I don't know the slightest thing about Joss's directing abilities, so I can't say I like that idea or dislike it. What does everyone else think?

Peter Jackson would definately be the ideal director for the project, but there isn't a chance he would do it Im sure.

I think Robert Rodriguez is a very good suggestion. With his work on Spy Kids he has the almost science fiction portion down, and with films like Once Upon a time in Mexico he has big action going for him as well. Im excited to see his ensable cast in Sin City. I actually think Robert would be best suited for the previously talked about Wolverine Solo movie, if he did it much in the same vein as Desperado.

Guillermo Del Toro I think is also a good idea. Hellboy and Blade 2 were both very well done visually even if the script was slightly lacking in both of them. His design crew that he has working with him does some of the best character designs on film. Im sure they could definately do something cool with the likes of Beast or Angel.Hmmm...Ron Pearlman as Beast???

I don't know about that. I wouldn't like to see all the X-Men suddenly talking like characters such as Xander or Willow (and everyone else for that matter) with their ridiculous Buffy-speak.
