WTF?! No, Seriously! WTF?! (Day 7: 10 am-12pm, SPOILERS)

So, I watched Redemption this weekend thanks to Netflix, and I enjoyed it. I don't think the plot hole will bother me a whole lot, but I did like the actor who played the son, so it might have been nice to have him on the show for a while. Then again, 24 already has a pretty big roster this season, so maybe it's a good thing he isn't around.

Does anyone know if what we are seeing now is the same stuff that was filmed pre-strike last year? Or did they completely scrap that stuff and reshoot everything?

If you pretend Redemption never happened, then no plot hole. I guess my big gripe with this is more that they went back for re-shoots to "get everything right" and "tighten" up the story, and heck, even went and shot Redemption. It's such a huge continuity error, especially when they a) they had all this time to "get it right" and b) they didn't have to film Redemption!

I'm with Penfold and Jarrod on this one. I'm so glad to have Jack back I'm willing to wait for things to be explained. So I'm assuming that First Son Roger was working on the basis of info druggie friend gave him ... and First Girlfriend didn't necessarily get the truth from Roger, because she hated his friend anyway. He could have lied to her about the origin of the info (to make it valid to her), and she perpetuated the lie to First Dude. I'm hoping we'll get more details to flesh things out as the series goes on.

Remember, they like to give us info two ways: we learn things as Jack does (or other characters), and we get tensions/twists along the way as we learn. Or we know more than the character does, so we see them getting into trouble and get tension that way (ie No! Don't go behind that door!) So this could be an example of the latter.
