I just looked up the Day remake on IMDb and it has no info about plot or specifics on characters. In fact, it doesn't even have a final cast list. It shows Ving Rhames as attached.

I tried looking up any info from movie info sites or from the studio behind the movie (or to even find out who they are) and can't find any info. I find it hard to believe that anyone has unequivocally pinned down exactly who Rhames character is considering even the lack of a rumor mill to dive into. I did see one poorly phrased sentence on Wikipedia that seemed to indicate that he's playing the same character but I find that seriously unlikely since...

SPOILER
it appears as though everyone gets caught off-guard at the end of Dawn and end up biting it.

You gave your opinion on the speed of the zombies, implied the use of fast zombies said something about the lack of attention of audience members and implied that they couldn't handle slow zombies because their brains were short-circuited from playing too many video games with slow zombies.

The Dawn of the Dead remake wasn't crap, nor is Speedy Zombies for people with "slow" attention spans. It's just a new aspect different from the older zombie movies. Alot of the speedy zombies has not only been incorporated from Video games but also from 28 Days Later which became a cult phenomenon.

I'm hoping you're right on Ving potraying the twin brother of the one in Dawn...It connects perfectly with the Ft. Bragg references.

There were some speedy go zombies movies although crappy around the time of original dawn of the dead. Alas, I was so tramatized by it I forgot the name of them.

*sigh*

This is what I get for trying to post at work when:

a. I'm the only person in my department left for the next two days, and
b. I've got two different people (at work) yapping at me trying to get me to do something funny..

In explanation (I'm going to start all my posts like this now I think), people with short attention spans like movies with no plot, lots of frenetic action, and lots of quick cuts. Like mindless videogames (poster's notation: not all videogames are mindless, some are in fact quite hard to puzzle through, but this does not preclude the fact that most shootem ups are mostly mindless videogames...like GTA. There I said it. :tongue.

The speedy-go-zombies are a byproduct of this short attention span, since the remake had no real plot or message, and lots of frenetic action and choppy cuts.

28 Days Later did not have zombies. Period.

Those were infected people. Different thing entirely (since they're still alive), that's why I don't consider it a zombie movie nor a horror movie, but more of a sci-fi thriller.

Finally, zombies move slowly because they are dead, decaying things. Skin sloughs off, muscle falls from bone, etc. Decaying things running at superspeed and having super strength is just plain stupid (poster's notation: I'm not calling anyone here stupid, I'm saying that the notion of superhuman zombies is stupid by definition. Get it? Got it? Good.).

Now, did I explain everything, or did everyone want to know the defecation process of the movie zombie too?

Did we watch the same movie? Most of what I saw was dialogue and character development through situation. They only went outside 3 or 4 times tops.

Oh, and you do make a good point about decay and such. Perhaps we could have seen the zombies slow down over time.
