I found it hilarious. Is it me or are the actors portraying Sam and Sock channeling a young Tom Cruise and Jack Black respectively? Missy Peregrim has a good Cute Nerd Girl thing going on and Sock's ex is hotter yet. As for Sam Wise's Devil he reminds me of a classic Mafia don. All smiles and charm until it's time for someone to get eaten by a zamboni.

Oh and 600 on the SATs? Combined?. A drunken monkey could get 750! And I'm not even talking one of the great apes, I mean one of the dumb little ones that still has a tail. A bonobo would get 900 easy.

Caught it last night and enjoyed it. I like the characters (though Sock does have the potential to get annoying) and the premise is good. The only thing about last night's ep. that I hope doesn't continue is the fact that we didn't really get much from the escaped soul. I mean, we know why he was in hell and why he has the powers he does, I just didn't really feel threatened by him. He wasn't all that frightening. I realize that for a little while this show will probably have a "monster of the week" format, I just hope that they give the souls a little more depth.

My guess and hope is that after a few more monster of the weeks they will start to develop more of a story arc. Apparently the escapees powers are related to their sins. Just like in Brimstone.

I think Ray Wise is a hoot as Old Scratch.

I still like this show, I think is has potential, but I'm still not crazy about the fact that we dont' really get any characterization from the escaped souls. They don't even get to talk until the last 5 minutes of the show, so there's barely any time to get anything more than "Hi, I'm an escaped soul, here's my power, here's why I'm pissed, uh-oh I'm being sucked into the vessel, the end." It's a little frustrating.
