Alan Moore is a great writer but needs to quit whining. Okay, so he doesn't want his stuff to be made into movies - alright, we get it! Quit being a baby about it, Alan!

Alan Moore has written some great stuff, though not lately; he took the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and basically pissed on the premise by making it too fanciful and trying to incorporate immortal characters as continuing members of changing lineups of the League over the centuries. And "Promethea" was to comic books and philosophical teachings waht the "Freak of the Week" concept was to the first season of "Smallville."

That being said, one of the funniest things ever was Moore's appearance on "The Simpsons."

Though I gotta say that he's rather spot on about "companies now that exist for the sole purpose of creating not comics, but storyboards for films". It's a disturbing trend I've noticed too. They're thinking comics are a secondary or intermediate medium to get your movie made. I find that sad. I love comics. I love film. Yet one is not superior to another, despite what popularity dictates.

Moore, you're a lovable grumpy old fart. Take some of those filthy Hollywood bucks and get laid by an expensive, skilled professional or explore some new magickal realms courtesy of some high-grade opiates or something. Anything. Let your, er, hair down. We love ya. Have some fun, man, You deserve it. Hell, WE deserve it ...
