Default Are you superstitious?

Or just Stupersticious?

Do you have any superstitions or act a certain way based on an unfounded belief? Do you have odd habits, like locking your door 6 times, or avoiding cracks in the sidewalk? Are you Obsessive Compulsive, or just mildly neurotic?

Or am I the only crazy one?

I'll start...

I refuse to walk under a ladder, for obvious susperstitious reasons.

I always lift my feet off the floor of the car when driving over rr tracks, but I don't remember the reason why.

When I'm watching baseball and my team is trying to make a comeback, I don't move at all. Not even an inch. I keep absolutely still in fears that any sudden movement will cause the rally to end hundreds of miles away from grown men on a baseball field.

Also, in baseball, I get really pissed off when a guy is throwing a Perfect game or No Hitter and the announcers keep bringing it up.

I don't like to touch anything that's clean including clothes (my own especially), dishes, furniture, etc., for fear of dirtying them even when I'm right out of the shower.

When performing average, repitious tasks involving two halves or something of the sort, I prefer to perform an even number of repitions such that I give equal weight to both sides.

I'd much rather have my TV volume at 25 or 30 than 27 even if 27 is most comfortable.

I'd say I'm obsessive compulsive except that I'm a complete slob otherwise.

Isn't that more compulsive behavior then superstitious?

I mean, I do that sorta thing too. When I'm adjusting my tv, I always stay on even numbers. Don't know why.

I like to sort my movies sometimes by alphabetical order while also in the category of director, genre, actor or actress.....like first is Bruce Willis movies A-Z.....then comes Horror A-Z.....

It must be hard for you to go out, being naked all the time.

I hold my breath when driving past graveyards.

I used to do that when I walked past them, but it's hard to walk 1/4 mile and not breathe. I think it has to do with soul-stealing(yours).

Yeah, supposedley if you breath in while going past a graveyard a spirit will enter your body and possess you. Don't know why I do it.

Why take the chance if the superstition is right? You can't convince yourself that's it's silly enough to ignore.

A few years ago I took a class about the anthropology of religion & we devoted an entire class to baseball. It has the most superstitious practices of any sport - lucky bats, lucky socks, players never washing their uniforms etc...

Mirrors & dead tv/radio stations. When I was younger I had a vanity with a large swivel mirror that creeped me out, so every night I had to flip the mirror so that it faced the wall. I'm not sure what it is about dead tv/radio stations, but if they are just static or blank it freaks me out. Probably something to do with white noise... which is interesting because I think white noise is mostly a bunch of garbage anyway.
