Looks just as crappy as the Dawn remake.
Did anyone else giggle when the speedy-go-zombies (say it out loud) started popping out of the 2nd floor window?

Nick Cannon's 'ilarious.
WTF they screwed this up. First they saw it has no relation to the remake of Dawn of the Dead. Next they cast Ving Rhames as a different role. Then they have a craptastic trailer that makes the whole thing look ridiculous. I'd rather watch Day of the Dead 2: Contagium, again. At least I know one of the actors in it.

The Dawn remake was crappy? I just saw it yesterday for the first time after hearing 2 years of smear campaigns against it and found nothing particularly objectionable or unbelieveable (once you accept that there are zombies for the sake of the movie). It sure makes a hell of a lot more sense than having zombies limp around dragging one foot behind them and their intended victims fall over themselves so many times that the sufferingly slow zombies actually CATCH them. The characterizations were believeable, the acting was good and the plot made some damn sense unlike just about every other horror movie made in the last 15-20 years.
I give the Dawn remake 3.5 out of 4 stars. Now if the Day remake is as crappy as that trailer looks, I hope that the master reels go up in flames.

I'm not even sure if that is a trailer at all, it seems too long for one...I do hope you're right though and the master reel gets burned by someone or something...
I see nothing wrong with the Dawn of the Dead remake either. Sure, it's not as good in my mind as the original but it's nothing to shake its head at...It wasn't bad though. I own it on my dvd shelf right there next to 28 Days Later, Shaun, Land, and old copies of the originals. As far as whatever this is on the Day remake......burn baby burn... I can't believe it's still up at Youtube. It's going to be pulled soon. |

Free advertisement? No way they'll scream to get that pulled. It is copyrighted material, though, so if they're going to pull everything with a copyright on it, that's gotta go, too. See, here's the problem with clamping down on YouTube: they just pissed away invaluable free advertising because they wanted stop people from watching full episodes or movies in 4"x3" resolution.

See, what's creepy about slow moving zombies is that one to five zombies is pretty harmless, unless they surprise you. A group of zombies (25 or more) and they get to be downright dangerous and just about impossible to stop without automatic weapons. Speedy-go-zombies are no better than your average psychopath. .

But getting caught by limping zombies is suspension of too much disbelief. It would be like having a jungle-based thriller and having people torn apart by three-toed sloths and carnivorous jungle snails rather than gorillas, apes, lions, tigers or anything else that would be believeably unescapable.
This whole discussion reminds me of the George Carlin quote Omicron is currently using for a sig, "Contrary to popular belief, a goldfish can kill a grizzly bear. But it does require a substantial amount of surprise." And, sorry, I just don't believe that goldfish is gonna take down a grizzly bear any more than a bumbling zombie will catch someone who is RUNNING away.
