Did it last night, and also gave a couple unused sets of BDUs and brown T shirts to the costumers. Bought those RIGHT when they were making the changeover to the new uniforms, so I really had no use for them. Now they'll help make art.
My character, CPT Isaac Whitaker, I didn't remember from the film. As research, I went and watched the opening of AFGM. And NOW I know why I don't remember him. Not only did they cut out a HELLA lot of the character for the movie, they split his role up between two different characters. In the play, Whitaker has a LOT of dialogue in the opening of the play to help set things up and to set Kaffe and Jo on their way. Lots of REALLY good Aaron Sorkin stuff. So you don't get a feel for this character watching the movie. He's a bit of a world weary legal beagle, and slightly a smartass. I've got a duo scene, pretty long one, with the Galloway character. And I've got another long one with Kaffee, Galloway and Sam, after that we transition to Gitmo. This'll be fun. |

Took the purple pill and loved the after-effects.

*sigh*
I miss doing theater. I just don't have the time any more, but I loved it. Break a leg, T.

Like Trixie, I too am a bit envious.
It was 6 years ago when I did my first stint at community theater, with my sister as the director, and me playing the baddie- the evil wicked Vizier! It was SO much fun. There really is nothing like the theater, big or small. Done right, it will forever remain a glorious experience. Enjoy it Tstone. Relish it. It is an experience unlike anything. Something everyone should have the opportunity to do at least once in a lifetime. ![]()

I had a big part in my highschool senior play. It was awful. I could not remember my lines. I will never do it again.
I wouldnt mind doing stuff behind the scenes. |

I did some plays and musicals in high school, but theater is too time-consuming for me to get involved in any more. The closest I've gotten is putting on a skit for my black belt show over a year ago. Neg Jr. and I did a re-creation of the Monty Python "Ladies Guild presents the Battle of Pearl Harbor," except we did the Battle of Marathon and instead of hitting each other with purses, we took our opponents down with tae kwon do. It was quite fun, and it sounds like you're going to have a good time with your play as well.

I took theater in high school. A guy in my class has been an extra in Spin City and Scrubs. He was hilarious, so at least part of it was fun, but I have a thing with stage fright. I would memorize ten pages of script and forget all of it the second I saw everyone in the seats. Horrifying. I always hated speech class for the same reason. That was then, though. You should've seen me when I started bartending, trying to make sure no one looked directly at me. :OhWell: I'd probably do better now, but really all it does is reaffirm my awe of those men and women and children who do it well. Kick some ass, T!
