I'm drooling over the impending legal war between Apple and Cisco.

It's dead technology already. A phone and an MP3 player you say ? With web browsing ? It's not like everyone else hasn't been doing that for years all over the world.

And no 3G. It's about three years too late.

The same 3% of consumers who religiously buy everything Apple and would buy a turd if it was white with their logo on it will snap it up though.

Yeah... but it'll be a really, really nice turd.

For those that haven't seen it...

I live within spitting distance of where MacWorld is being held. Frankly, at a price tag of $499-$599, this really isn't worth it. Especially if it has the same battery life as the video iPods which can't play more than 25 minutes of video without shutting off.

Nope, there are plenty of better, faster, more powerful, slimmer, and more reliable phones that do the exact same thing (and more) than the iPhone does, at a fraction of the price.

Oh, that's good to hear. The product isn't even on the market yet, is it? People are already suing!

My phone doesn't even have a camera... it was hard to find.

I find your remarks about call phone cameras being difficult to find offensive, and therefore I find it necessary to sue you.

Cisco's got a case, though. The term iPhone was trademarked nearly a decade ago and Cisco has owned it for the last six years. On top of that, they've been actively pursuing a product of their own to name iPhone for years and have already delivered it to the market. Apple's iPhone definitely confuses the market and impedes Cisco's ability to move into the cell phone market which, by their public statements, is part of an overarching goal they've had for some time. Cisco acted in good faith by negotiating to let Apple use the name under certain circumstances. Apple, thus far, has not returned that good faith effort by agreeing to the conditions set forth by Cisco, instead thumbing their collective nose at Cisco.
